I was just thinking.... and I'll tell more about it later, ...The way it worked out for me and my fam is that
when I first started having "doubts" I tried to be careful not reveal the wrong things, at the wrong time, too soon.
I didn't want to put my wife in the position to have to choose between me AND her faith.
If I told her everything I was thinking she would have had to choose between keeping it secret or telling the elders. I wanted her to make her own decision not based just on me.
It was sort of a progressive thing; I didn’t even know I was fading. I did not plan it out or anything, but I knew, that for us, the direct approach would do more harm than good. But you know your families the best. For some another way could be better.
I guess the point is that no matter what your reason is for fading, no matter how logical your reasoning or how much time you spent thinking or researching etc. If you reveal too much to the ones you love, and if they are "good jws", it will be like drawing a line in the sand that they have to decide which side they are going to be on. I didn’t draw that line. If there is a line there somewhere, we didn’t make it. To us it’s just laying out there with the rest of the sand off in the distance.

I almost posted this to the humor topic because it was so funny, but he really said that one over and over. Most people in the kh ate his stuff up, I think the rest of us just tried to laugh it off. I wish I had seen outlaws post along time ago so I could have run it by him, maybe he would have used it in his talks.

Hello everybody! I've been lurking around here for a while, so I feel like I know most of you already. It’s been a rough 20 years getting here, but now here I am. I started fading after a rough patch a few years ago. (I didn’t know that’s what it was called until I read some of your experiences here.) Thanks to those of you who post your adventures here I took note of what worked for some of you and what didn’t. And now, after all those months of pain and misery my wife and daughter faded with me. Of course there is much more to the story than this, but for now I just wanted to say hi and let you know there is one more nut riding this crazy train!
