"Thi: You are not good at reasoning eh? Read verse 15 once again, see the connection between being sick ""(spiritually sick)"" and then "if the person had sinned"?"
You prove my point, it THEN states, "Also" "IF" the person had sinned... What "IF" he had not sinned? Then the process would be meaningless in the first place! Why then go? Why does the WT not oil sinners as instructed in the bible? Why do this at all?
Please show proof that it is a spiritually sick person and not just a physically sick person. Why does the Bibe state to confess your sins to one another, if we have the elders for that?
You and the WT add ""(spiritually sick)"" to that verse and you think we all should roll over and die. Stop adding words that are not there!

""--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If everyone should follow Paul’s instructions for disfellowshipping as you state, then why not an “appointment?”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------The appointment was not an official appointment"""
Wow, how do you know this? How do we not know then that the disfellowshipping was not an "official" appointment of status?
Paul's preaching tour not "official?"
You are rationalizing big time! Face the real truth!

““You have misread that scripture. A few verses back, James was talking about going to the elders. So following the line of logic, the confessing the sins with one another referred to confessing the sins to elders not to just anyone.”“
You have misread the Scriptures!
It states that older men should be called in for sickness. There is no proof what so ever that it is for spiritual sickness as the WT would like us to believe. In fact, after stating what they should do (Grease with oil, do they do this with spiritual sickness today? Of course not, but they did grease with oil back then for health reasons!) then it states to pray and that sins may also may be forgiven. Why state this twice if it is just for sins all along?
Because the first part was adressing sickness , nothing more.
However, the Bible is very clear who we should confess our sins to: One Another!Once again, the WT twists what is actually written!

“”Thi: Barnabas never questioned Paul's authority. He disagreed on the appointment of Mark, that's all. “”
That’s all? After “bitter words” as one translation puts it, they went their separate ways, disbanding the preaching tour. If everyone should follow Paul’s instructions for disfellowshipping as you state, then why not an “appointment?”
Your committee meeting:
Nowhere in the bible does it place elders in a privileged class to hear your “case.” The bible states to confess your sins to one another, not just the “elders.”

“”Certainly those Christians would have respected Paul's authority ...”
Really? Barnabas had a falling out with Paul on service matters, was he disfellowshipped for disagreeing with Paul’s “authority” in this matter?
Read most of Paul’s writings, and he is defending himself against other brothers! Some stated he was a poor speaker and his speech contemptible! Were they disfellowshipped for their views? The JWs love to paint a different situation.
Jesus stated that “only one is your Master, all of you are brothers.”
Not in JW land..........

When the Shepard leaves the ninety-nine to recover the one lost sheep, no action on the one lost sheep was required, except to agree to be restored! Jesus does not mention any formalistic legal process the lost sheep must endure for acceptance. Also, once in, no probation (restrictions) were involved!

You do not address the points.
If I am disfellowshipped and come to the KH, not committing the sin I was DISFELLOWSHIPPED for , leaving my past behind, will I be welcomed back like the prodical son? Answer: NO. Very simple yet very powerful.
Reason: The Jws treat DISFELLOWSHIPPING as a “state” and not as an act with redemption as the bible teaches.
“”quote:
Paul stated that the majority who rebuked the wrongdoer was enough.
I don't believe he made that distinction. Certainly those Christians would have respected Paul's authority within the Christian congregation and not challenged him by associating with the wrongdoer. Obviously they did respect the arrangement, that's why Paul wrote his Second letter with instructions to accept the wrongdoer into the congregation.”“
Paul used the term “majority” and not the word “all.” Why? Because only a majority chose to rebuke him, or he would have used a different word. What about the minority then?
You can rationalize all you want, but it is there in black and white!

Also, Paul states that the man should be forgiven by them, the congregation, not reinstated by a committee!
