Deleting A Poster Akin To DF'ing?
by Englishman ini recently got an email from mr. moe.
amongst other things, she says that she hated df'ing when she was a dub, so she abhores the banning of certain posters from this site, because it seems so similar to df'ing.. i think her opinion is of great value and warrants looking at closely.
is suspending someone for the contents of their posts justifiable then?

Lets see: You loose your privilege to communicate to the community. You loose the ability to defend yourself when the lap dogs come out to talk about you and tell Simon how he did the right thing. You loose the fellowship of the board by being banned. For good or bad, "its Simons board" so the "Men in authority" do not need anything more, "go someplace else if you don't like it."
Nope, it does not sound like DFing at all!

Most unhypocritical religion which one?
by haujobbz inthink about it when you chose to become a jw why did you choose that belief.. was it because you witnessed there good works or there following the scriptures closely or even there so called similarity to 1st century christians.. when i think about it, i didnt really witness these things it was the books i studied which told me this because if i had really looked closely at the activities and jw roots i would of realised they werent the pure religion they claimed to be.now i think about it why didnt i take my study more serious not just reading what the jws gave me but looking to outside sources for more information, im really gutted i didnt do this now.
i mean did i look at other beliefs to see how they functioned nope i just believed the books i studied and that was it and i thought i wasnt gullible.. so now in the situation most of us are in today if you were to look at most religious christian beliefs today which would you say follows the bible closely and imitates the 1st century christians the closest, sticks to gods and christ teachings closely.
also have any of you thought about joining another faith and which one?

""Re: thichi
Ok if we hadnt read raymond franz books and look at this question in a relative way would you pick a religion then, i take it you were a jw b4 so you obviously believed in looking to religious groups to follow.
I do agree that true christian faith isnt any religion but is more down to individuals worshipping god.
I have heard a few say they think the quakers follow 1st century christians more than anyone else even though i dont know what they believe in, i didnt even know they were christians i thought they didnt believe in christ.""""
Rats!! you have nailed me down to a specific. Well, my current viewpoint is that the First Century Christians did not believe in a Trinity, Hell Fire, or Immorality of the Soul.
Here are two fellowships that I like to keep in touch with:
http://www.nazarene-friends.org/default.htm
Friends of the Nazarene is a spiritual community of Messianic Christians dedicated to "following the Lamb no matter where he goes." (Revelation 14:4) They are wholly devoted to a better understanding of the Bible without being squeezed into those various "forms" which have become identified with controlling religions. Since they have no such agenda, the Friends of the Nazarene are free to interpret the Bible themselves, viewing the entire Divine Library as an "open" book, not "sealed" for the elitist interpretations of a self-appointed hierarchy. (Revelation 22:10)
AND:
The New Creation is a bimonthly magazine sent out free to all those who request it. Its purpose is to strengthen and encourage God's New Creation in practical Christian matters of life. Due to resource limitations, we cannot put the entire contents here on the web as soon as we would like. We will give you some highlights, that you can find with the navigation links on the left. We also have other forums including a Children's Story Corner, Letters to the Editor, Family Forum, and Conference notices.

I agree with Brother R. Franz: "It is the Christian Faith that is true, not any one religion."

The Organization -An Enemy or Friend
by stevieb1 ini would like to ask you for your collective help:.
i am in the process of attending a judicial committee meeting with three elders because of my "speaking" of "apostate" ideas in the congregation.
they have made responses to some of my thoughts but i can't make a reply in turn.

Remember, "Apostolic authority" was present in most of the first century. No one can claim that authority today!
Jesus said: Only one is your Master, you are all Brothers."
"Christian Elders had Scriptural authority, true. It was however, authority to serve, not to subordinate others; to assist, counsel, even reprove, but never to dominate or dictate to."

Read Galatians 1:1, 10,11. Does not sound like Paul believed in a GB!
Acts 15: "It was not some small group of men meeting in secret session to make a decision. Instead, the record indicates a gathering of considerable size, an assembly of Jerusalem elders, with the whole congregation eventually expressing its approval...."
In Search of Christian Freedom, Page 46.
READ THE BOOK! THERE WAS NO FORMAL GB IN THE FIRST CENTURY. In fact Pauls ministry and home base was out of Antioch not Jerusalem.
The meeting was held in Jerusalem because that is where the trouble makers were from! See Acts 15: 1, 2,5,24.
READ THE BOOK!

HoChiMin:
""The WT and the local congregations certainly do discourage the net. Without a doubt, I'm sure you will agree, the WT tries to control information reaching it's adherents. So what's the point? Is it the fact that association (don't deny that it's association) with "apostates" on the net is a conscience matter?""
The WT discourages many things. I did not say they dont. R rated movies, college, sports, on and on. However, they cant stop you from these things. Including, visiting any religious site unless they have the goods on you to label you an apostate. If you are witnessing, they cant touch you. However, they can deny you using this time as counting field service.
Plus, how can you prove who is an apostate and who is not? You can meet and talk to an apostate just as easy just going from door to door.
Again, show me a Dfed person whos only crime was witnessing online.
(I knew of one family that never met for meetings of field service, never took direction from the elders, went to the territory of their choosing and we could not do a thing! Talk about no-nos.)
My point, is that instead of using this non-issue to make Dubs leave, we should welcome them and debate the real issues.

Really? How many Jws have got the boot for violating this no-no? If it is proven that "witnessing"has taken place, then they cant do s**t.
I remember a case were a Brother was invalid and posting on religious boards. The only thing we could do is tell him he could not count hours that way, according to the CO.
The point I am trying to make is that we should not use this "issue" to address other topics when debating a JW. We dont need it. We want them to consider our viewpoints related to the WT. Why use a JW type tactic? Welcome them. Don't be like them.
Think back when we were in good standing. Did any of us ever violate any "no-nos" at any time? Sure we did!

Remember, the "slave" has banned R rated movies and a host of other things. How many Jws truly obey all these things?
How many Jws do you know that have been Dfed for going to an R rated movie? As an Elder, the worse we could do is mark a person.
