Book Review: The Hunt for Vulcan: . . . And How Albert Einstein Destroyed a Planet, Discovered Relativity, and Deciphered the Universe
by Viviane ini recently read this book and found it to be excellent.
it's the story of how we never stop knowing, how science works (even when it doesn't), how gracefully math can describe the world we live in and more.
the story begins with how sir isaac newton, author of pricipia mathematica and holder of the lucasian chair at cambridge, developed math to describe the gravity and the motion of the planets with no need god holding them in place.

There is very few oxigine on that height, now and at that time as well.
All the Oxygen that was at sea and ground level would have been lifted up too. There needed to be no Oxygen masks on the ark, neither was it pressurized. the decrease in pressure because of the expanded atmosphere would have been equivalent to climbing a 3 story building. The problem is not the heights, it is the water to get it 9000 meter deep and get rid of it. Imagine a faith build on fables like your's too. -

The whole flood story is a fairytale.
All the mountains were flooded. So how did they breath all that time on top of the mount Everest
A rising tide lifts all boats and the air around them. that breathing is not the problem, It is a high tale of hot air

Question for believers, heaven or earth?
by Tornintwo injust trying to figure out what i believe in the wake of leaving the borg.
jesus message appeals, of course.
i just wanted to ask believers, christians, on this forum if you think the hope is heaven or earth.

It can not be on an eternal earth, for the Sun would have to be purged of its helium, and re -supplied with Hydrogen. Not only a new Earth, a new heavenly Sun too. As far as we know, the deist's creator does not violate his laws, even natural laws; so if you are conscious after your last breath, be very surprised, hopefully pleasantly. -

Water cycle is crucial for life and would not be possible with just mist and water canopy.Yeah, If there was no water cycle, where did the water of the of the 4 edenic rivers come from, and run too? from mist to fog? forget it!

Monologue continued on water[mark] in this week's meetings: The F word question:
If you held up 1) the flood story*, 2) Jesus walking on water**, 3) even the 3 day _"regret", that mistake I made: Jehovah'***,-- up to the light of science and reality, stories written on quality water mark paper --what would you see? the F-word' no, not faith. but
F.A.K.E. the truth about the 'truth' shining through between the lines. readers beware.

Achilles heel of Watchtower publications
by Gorbatchov inthe wts has published over it's existence during the years a flood of books and magazines.
many of the content of this publications includes topics about the medical, social, history field and also counsel about life style.. the achilles heel of all these publications is, that they are written mainly by amateurs, without verification and validation.
most of it is worthless.

they got away with it, because nobody seriously educated ever read them, and any comments to the effect that they were flawed were squelched. -

Moses supposedly wrote all about 4 edenic rivers, the flood, while living in the desert with his million followers, knocking on rocks to get water, he did not have a clue, but his stories are the basis for wt faith. fabulous fables. -

Grags, welcome! at the right time];-- you posted: "--they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the water; and they were frightened.20 But he said to them, “It is I; don’t be afraid--"
Your mentor will discuss this in next sunday's wt stud related to faith. -- does this idea give you the sinking feeling. well. keep up your healthy scepticism, and keep your feet firmly planted in reality, not stories. .

The canopy over the Earth. But that would have been such an astronomical amount of water up there in the sky. assuming that the "canopy" was held up like the satellites, at that heights, by orbital velocity, it would need only to be 20 meters thick. Compared to the rings of saturn, such a structure would reach way past the moon. Moon= la Lune, that is why this flood from the sky idea is lunatic. It is the coming down part that hurts, the fall at the end =heat. lots of it. Life did not drown in the flood, it would have been steamed, including the ark.
