  I think I was off the day they taught ...

  does anyone else have those things that everyone else seems to know ... except you?

  it's like you were off the day it was taught in school and you don't know that you don't know about it.

  but everyone else does.. i have a couple .... first, days of the month.

  besty: :getting off topic now, but aphelion occurs around early July so will depend which hemisphere you live in as to whether you have a summer or winter aphelion

  I think off topic will be forgiven for common interest. for us northerners, it seems odd that in our summer we are further from the sun., winter closer, but here is the compensation to the variation in radiation: The south has more water surface, which mitigates absorption, temperature, although Oz faces the double whammy of a summer with an also closer Sun, angle of incidence being equal. If this smacks of design, ?? so what! --all factors in our favour are welcome, , even if by happenstance.

  dear friends,.

  much of what we do on a daily basis is routine and of no particular, earth-shaking importance.

  however, after reviewing letters of family going back to wwii, it is fascinating to read what dad was doing on board the aircraft carrier in the pacific on any old day, what mom was cooking on her ever-steaming range, how i was dealing with the roller coaster of emotion at bethel [mom saved all my letters], how nana wrote that she would not study with the witnesses [per my request] but 'here are some mittens i knitted for you when you canvass new york with your magazines.

  well, they, the 24 (just covered in the bible readin) must be at a loss too, This comprises all the anointed, including the Apostles, the writer of Revelation and all that died up to 1918., when they pushed the "millions will never die" and "1925 ancient resurrection" speeches.

  If these characters now are the heavenly helpers of the GB, they are either defective transmitters of God's real solution, or just as confused as to what to about the messed up doctrines they passed on to the current batch of overlappers.

  what a testament . what a punishment to have to witness your followers squirm from the mess you left them; of course, really you are off the hook, because you know now, you were never the discreet slave Class anyway.

  reminds me of a fundraising in a little Pentecostal church, they put the platter in front, near the lectern, and did one lap of contributing, counted, it was not enough, so, the members did another lap around the front. not enough!-- another lap.

  Witnesses will not get over all these laps, sadly, they are still lapping it up.

  SaintBertholdt thank you for that dual fist diagram, I did not realize that July and August are 2 adjacent 31 day long month. (I thought the length were alternating) Thus Kepler is vindicated, summer is the aphelion of Earth, with the slowest orbital velocity.

  Funny grammar error in German Watchtower

  they seem to have laid off their proofreaders.

  in the new 03/2016 study watchtower there is a picture description:a mature young person does not act like a friend of god at the kingdom hall but a friend of the world at school.

  the german issue saysein reifer junger mensch verhalt sich im konigreichssaal nicht wie ein freund jehovas und in der schule wie ein freund der welt.

  It would have sounded nicer if Kingdom Hall and "school" would have been close together, to make the contrast clear like:

  Ein reifer junger Mensch verhaelt sich nicht wie ein Freund Jehovah's im Koenigsreichssaal, aber*** in der Schule wie ein Freund der Welt. oder *** gleichzeitig IMO.

  For an English speaker, the German "New Theocratic tongue" really sounds antique, stilted.

  Is ANYONE in charge a real ordained minister? College degrees? Seminary? A real Theological degree?

  I remember one school overseer with a degree in Journalism, an accomplished TV personality. what a difference a degree makes.

  Now, if local elders had degrees, that would fulfill Jesus' words about slaves being the first, for the undereducated 7 would direct, feed the educated.( the things hidden from the world)

  i am intrigued to know if there is truly any evidence of financial irregularities in the jehovah's witness organisation or if any one or group are raking off funds or benefitting financially...?.

  whilst i disagree wholeheartedly with most of their teachings and practices, dogmatism, legalism and superiority complex, i don't honestly think there's anyone making millions at the top.

  yes you could say that the gb are comfortably off, don't have to pay bills etc but they do actually get up in the morning and 'work', they aren't going off in private jets to tropical islands or driving bentleys.

  "That would be illegal activity." I am thinking more of the Cleaning, Real estate, Construction. Providing, Purchasing, Financial Service activities in- and with individuals which generate profits that do not show up in wt accounts. It is like what goes on around a Black Hole, matter that goes in,-- is gone, without possible return, , but there is a lot of energy, radiation coming off the periphery. There is a glow to the enterprise. many are bathing in it.
