  The holes are so big that there is no substance, really, except stories. Just think, how can anything really have been paid TO "god" if he provided the ransom "value, price" in the first place?. Wt occasionally calls " jehovah" the ransomer, rather than "jesus" . The ransom theory is just an exercise in bookkeeping. and: the painful death story is cruel, but has been played out billions of times, and it could happen to you, if no morphine is around.

  as a young witness married couple in the 1990's we knew "this generation" of 1914 did not have long to go!

  that is why when talking to the other near or past 90 year olds, I do not mention the far future, but always stress the satisfactions of the past lives. The pains of the past are already forgotten, but the satisfaction to have life and have had it for ~9 decades makes the pains of late life well worth it. A life lived well is better than illusions about the future. the future will take care of itself. No "ill loose" ions here, apart from the peace and quiet of unconscious death.

  this is not a new idea, certainly not for an Australian, but try the surf in Waikiki, at low tide. a very long ride and with reef walkers you can actually stand on the seafloor and catch a wave without any paddling, if you are a beginner. This is a cool way to reconnect with the energy of the universe!
