What are the biggest holes in evolution?
by shadow inhow honest are the proponents of evolution?
idk but curious to see what type of response there is on a topic like this or does their study only seek to confirm their preconceptions and ignore uncomfortable facts?

One big hole is the idea, that the details of the evolution process that are so proudly presented, were so painstakingly discovered with so much ingenuity, are presented as the latest "truth"even named after their discoverers, without stopping to pause and think, that even a greater ingenuity would be required to create such a process in the first place, especially if automatically arising out of the original beginning event of movement through time, energy, space, laws. observing is easier than creating. has anything ever been observed that was not also created? evolution is easy, some aspects of the process can be observed as they happen. -

A Thought Experiment
by InjusticeSystem ini am hoping some of you may be up for participating in a little creative thought experiment .
the question i would like to pose (and if it has already been asked i apologize, for some reason i cannot search for topics on my mobile) is this: what would the evidence show if the jehovah's witness' literal reading of genesis was true?
i realize that is a fairly broad question, but for example a more pointed question could be: if the vapor canopy hypothesis is correct (i have confirmed with my elder father that this is still a currently accepted understanding), what evidence in our genome or that of other creatures or on earth would we expect to see?

ctrwtf : don't use that argument please, pushing the atmosphere up everywhere past Everest's summit, would have lowered the atmospheric pressure only as much as climbing to the third floor. There would be heat rather than cold. Enough nonsense in the flood story, no need to combat it by bad physics. -

Some thoughts on the new midweek meeting
by Saltheart Foamfollower inthe new midweek meeting has been running for a month now.
here are my thoughts on how it is going so far:.
1) elders are looking frazzled from being on virtually every meeting and having to prepare unfamiliar formats for items.

The ueber elders that assign themselves the ueber parts are seen above the podium again and again, can't remember the details that are said. Are they trying to make the 1-2-3 ministry demos more important than life? . These demonstrations, canned or live, are unrealistic, no sane person would allow this being imposed on them at the door. boring and irrelevant. It takes 75 000 hours of this ( not including the meeting time) to make one witness. no wonder. -

Original Sin / Salvation without a literal Adam and Eve?
by Coded Logic insomething i've never understood is if adam and eve are just metaphorical where did "original sin" come from.
and, if there was no original sin, what is the value of jesus sacrifice?.
i know a lot of christians believe in evolution but i've never understood how such a belief is structured.

Adam was made conditionally immortal, The condition being, to have continued access to the fruit of the tree of life. -

The holes are so big that there is no substance, really, except stories. Just think, how can anything really have been paid TO "god" if he provided the ransom "value, price" in the first place?. Wt occasionally calls " jehovah" the ransomer, rather than "jesus" . The ransom theory is just an exercise in bookkeeping. and: the painful death story is cruel, but has been played out billions of times, and it could happen to you, if no morphine is around. -

Diogenesister said: have the odd drink too( I think getting too worked up and health freaky has the opposite effect)..enjoy yourselves --" , yeah, without all les accoutrement of contraception !!!!. and not one drink at the first sign of success. Concentrate all your effort in the middle of the month! Success is very likely, a close relative had her perfect daughter at 49, after a life of dedicated drinking, yet total abstinence during pregnancy. Because you are older and desire children, the experience is really underrated, totally fulfilling and exhausting. (for a while) and, if you live in a warm country sleep under a mosquito net, ignore the visible kingdom government's warning against pregnancy too. -

Is it later then you think?
by Crazyguy ina exfriend of mine gave his first public talk and that was the title.
wasn't that the title of an awake in 1969?
if so, talk about rehashing an old title.

I remember that the 1949 talk was actually kind of anticlimactic, Russia just having suffered defeat at the Berlin airlift. The Cold War not becoming hot, and prosperity coming to Europe with the Marshal plan. WT panic mongering madness, even in a city bombed to bits, and oranges, bananas seen for the first time in decades. but
In the cosmological sense the statement is right. If you think what you see is happening now,--wrong, it all is already history, it is too late for you see the other's now. So, do not trust what you are thinking.

The Heresy of Neutrality
by Perry inthe one thing that keeps jw's worshiping the watchtower corporations more than (or as much as) anything else is the issue of neutrality.
neutrality is such a benign sounding word isn't it?
it even sounds religious.

2015 WT CD ROM Trying to Hide the Past
by The Searcher inwhen installing, it asks if you'd like to receive automatic updates via the internet.. in other words, "we will re-write our history without you knowing what was written previously.".
the corporation knows that many will never exchange their cd rom for the puerile online library, so doctoring their previous "truths" is the best solution.. a bit like the creed painted on the barn door in "animal farm.

Wt previously changed the wording in the official reprint bound volumes from the original issues. Old habits transferred to the E realm.
