by TMS inwith the book crisis of conscience detailing the turbulence at bethel during the early to mid 70's, the transformation from autocratic rule to governance by committee or a body of men, many of us can speak to how that felt among the rank and file of the local congregations during those years.
we learned new concepts based in large part to research done for the aid to bible understanding volume, then we were asked or coerced into unlearning those principles, going back to the old ways.
some of us never readjusted, finding ourselves very different from our more hardline compadres.. the inertia for the changes that eventually were initiated in the congregations came from the discovery that the greek words episkopos and presbyteros were used biblically to refer to all qualified men in a congregation, not just one.

Wt got the rotation idea from the only "G B" meeting in old Jerusalem, with Peter (Acts 15:6) being the opening chairmen and James (Acts !5:13-19) presiding over the final session.
The years of rotating jobs was very productive.
Before that everything was frozen, (talent,merit or not) ambitious people were in despair of the Company servant not moving, not dying, not abdicating (like the pope).
Rotation was HATED by the old elite, it really showed on their faces. Dismayed to be shown that the congregation would just do fine without their ministrations.
as a matter of fact the congregations flourished, not really because of rotation only, but because of 75, the end, the BEGINNING of the NW was surely coming!!!
MANDATORY Rotation forced people to work in unfamiliar domains. The fumbling loving bumbler suddenly had to lead, and everybody loved it and helped.
After having "lead" (now in wtspeak "co-ordinate ") for a year, you became School overseer, your latent talent as a theater critic/actor /coach took everybody off guard. In one of the congregations I was in, the School overseer had a degree in Journalism, was a local TV personality!
Fate rotated me into the "Lead" slot in 74/75. scary, imagine, with satan's attack immenent beeing the prime target, but helping everbody through the G T and into the NW! what a relief it never happened.
The smile came back on the dominators with a vengence when bible instructions were abandoned again for cult - type dictatorial control.
If the eager eight would look at their charts, greatest increase happened with least control.
You saw the future back then,--- but people here, -- are already under least control. that is why:
Mark my word: there is more increase here than where we came from, --spiritually speaking.

Not meaning to sound sexist : In general are women more emotional/feel good about religion,and men more proof/doctrinal in their acceptance ?
by smiddy ini`m just speaking from my own experience here ,and it has occured to me that over the 33 years i was a witness and in the six congrgations i was a part of , except for a few exceptions, the majority of sisters in the congregations did not have a grasp of the so called deeper things of god,according to wt theology, sure they could run off " bible topics for discussion" sermons but very few could take a discussion any further than that.whereas i was aware that males seemed more likely to delve deeper into, not only the scriptures,but also the wt interpretations as a whole.
don`t get me wrong a few women left me for dead in their comprehension of topics ,but i`m just saying overall i found this to be the case ... my experience... smiddy.

In matters religious, when judged, at least YOU can plead that it was given to you to add the beauty, the warmth, the caring element and were not responsible for supporting the failed, balled-up, messed up doctrine works of the duly appointed annointed males.

by frankiespeakin inwith all this low price recording equipment miniaturization availible, and the world wide broadcasting utube, we should see a flood of videos showing what goes on durring these special meetings with people who are finding out the truth about the so called "truth".. and while i'm not a legal eagle i would think that some savy apostate may wins some lawsuits with this material or lawyer for that matter finding an interesting case on the net.
well i can only hope on that one because i don't know and haven't explored the idea much.. i'm seeing this already on you tube and think it serves a good purpose to show these kangaroo courts thus bringing into the open view of the public what goes on in a governing body styled judicial committee and show just how nuts these sickos are.. more videos also puts the governing body on alert to tread carefully and to dot thier i's and cross their t's because big brother is watching..

"--WOMAN-- FEEL good about religion--" it seems so, in the KHs I remember, the ladies were the most prolific and emotional WT commentors (--resses?)
Walking into a public library and seeing the ladies patronizing the rows and rows and rows of FICTION shelves explains why that strong RELIGIOUS bend is so.
Much of these volumes have a high romantic content, and we men, and religion are the beneficiaries (mostly) of these pent-up interests.
you can be sexist, truthful and still be politically correct.

i have a comfortable enough relationship to speak openly with him about things, but am careful to disclose the extent of my disbelief in wt doctrine.

Partaking as an act of "thumbing your nose" at them? probably not.
Many realize that ALL should partake, that passing the glass, plate is a charade. but would NOT eat and drink there, because.
partaking after that mixed - up talk would amount to setting yourself up as a mentally deseased, a sealed heaven-bound martyr.
Partakers in this crowd dont care about the numbers, but are of the percentage that feels that they make the cut for whatever reason.
Many knowledgeable ones partake at home, have for decades.
It will be interesting to see if the scattered knowledge of the demotion of the "partaker F&DS annointed CLASS" will discourage eager aspirants from partaking.

This is a better, more specific question than the one "are the sexes equal?",- with the obvious answer that they of course are.
Our species owes its succes in large part through this specialization seen in the female and male mind, the latter* being very focussed on the task at hand and driving for a successful solution, using mainly one half of the brain only, to do it. * like many men I am totally baffeld and delighted by the whole of the feminin personna(e).
Take the capable lady of Proverbs 31, her husband reduced or elevated, even freed --to praising her at "the gate", the domain of male activity.
It will be interesting to see, where the freeing of the woman of the world from chores,( achieved by mostly male - driven accomplishments), will lead us.
Using the questionable fables of the bible as a guide,
What if "Eve" would have used "male-think": more analytical, challenging, -- while listening to the serpent:
let me cut this snake's throat open to see how that larinx works! "What do you mean I will be like god ?, we are already like god, made in his image, what do you mean " you will not die", --that contradicts verse 17! what do you mean : " Know good and bad?" we already know that, its bad to eat from this tree.

How many sisters would be passionately INTERESTED to analyze the doctrinal inconsistencies? The BIG questions?
