CO Comes Up With A New Way To Be Judgemental...
by JW_Rogue inat the latest co visit something very strange happened.
during the meeting with the elders and servants he passed out a copy of a hypothetical publisher card and asked us what we could learn from it.
upon receiving it i saw that the average hours were pretty good, it had return visits and quite a few bible studies.

The answer would be: since we stopped the brown wrapper subscription service long ago, ;-- why does the brother not place at least 2 mags per month with the studies? may be extra copies to pass out? a few studies should then add up to 10 mags, 1 mad/hr. ? -

great points in that link. thank you
The flood/ ark story is actually compatible with evolution. The surviving species always moves and prospers in the environmental niche opening up that is favourable for survival, and the animals lined up to enter the newly finished ark just "knew" instinctively, this was the place to be. Perfect timing too, roos using the previous landbridge off Darwin to time their coming to the grand opening of the ark. arrgh.

November WT God's View Of War
by JW_Rogue indid anybody else read this article and just think wth?.
sometimes god approves of war.. sometimes god doesn't approve of war.. when the israelites fought battles and won it was because god blessed them.. when they lost it was because god had not blessed them.. sometimes god fights for oppressed ones.. sometimes they must wait and have faith.. it is so clear that the bible contradicts itself on this issue and that the nation of israel had a totally different view of god than the early christians.
it is also clear that the nation of israel was highly superstitious and would attribute every battle's outcome to the whims of a higher power.

Why JWs record and report time?
by ThinkerBelle inokay, so yes, i'm a born-in, but this point has always baffled me (and i guess i never bothered to research or ask).

Mid - Week Meeting This Week
by xjwsrock inmillie210 posted this on another thread - i thought it deserved it's own op:.
i took an elderly friend to the meeting last night.
the study is in the "imitate their faith" book which is merely a compilation of previous short stories about bible characters that were featured in a series of watchtower articles.. they waste no time beginning their spinning and supposition with the cain/abel story.

Warren Wilson30 minutes agoMy chump of a foster brother (in his mid fifties) still believes firmly that the rainbow is only in the sky because god put it there. How do you expect a rainbow to appear earlier, with the sun shining through a 8 km thick water canopy? with the refraction index of water 1.333 ? -

If God is love, then he wouldn't have commanded his people to fight. It's as simple as thatyeah, he could have let them abandon the perennial Middle East battle zone and have them leave in sturdy oak arks, ships and settle as Earlier Days Refugees in Utah.

Fink- yeah i forgot about that. The organization is the ark. Fear-mongering much?
Everybody basically believed the earth was flat.
So all these goofy uneducated paranoid ancient people with their flood stories that were passed down from generation to generation and exaggerated, prove absolutely nothing.
Well, it proves the bible is not inspired, not proof-read by G.O.D or the writing staff. and if this is so, then:
Their belief is an Imitation Faith, based on the Imitate Their Faith book.

here is a gem from the Imitation Faith book page 22 footnote last line: "--Noah's mother, brothers, and sisters ---** have perished in the flood". wow!! Families in the old days lived together. so Noah perhaps looked on from the upper deck, as his family drowned? No wonder those callous traits were not changed by that Big Wash.
**unless they died earlier.
