  Dogma, Fogma or Frogma? What's the best word to describe a concept like FDS or events circa 1914?

  for instance, a fundamental dogma of christianity is the resurrection, but among sects of christianity, dogmas about other details vary.

  nonetheless, they are insisted upon in their basic unavoidable, unchanging form - otherwise there would be no basis for the particular sect's belief other than habit.

  Now here' another. The sacred scriptures were collected and canonized in an Era of Apostasy and in babylonish captivity staining everything.

  Do most ex JW's go politically left?

  i've found it interesting that- imho- most of the politically vocal ex-jw's at this website seem to lean left.

  i'm personally pretty centered- right on some issues, left on others, but overall have a pretty cynical view of all political/religious leaders.

  i find it somewhat ironic that people who leave such a dogmatic group like the witnesses become so politically dogmatic.

  we would have to take a poll on that, issue by issue. Universal healthcare is as old as the wt 1870. not a left issue, a given, welfare state , think the paradise. tough on crime? wt always blamed victims. Has the wt experience really changed the worldview of people, or is previous education determining the new direction? Trump or Sanders VT.?

  had a conversation with my jw mother the other day.

  she has been baptized for over 50 years.

  i've been out for 30 years, but because both my mother and mother-in-law are jw's i keep up with all things jw.

  Any thought on Business Territory

  i was working one day, had a couple of male customers to serve when this lady walks in & offers me a track on her religion, my answer without thinking " i already know what the bible say's, i'm one of jw's".

  she just threw me a dirty look & the two guy's just looked down & said nothing.

  i just carried on, served them as nothing had happened.

  It's OK to be an Apostate ... but only if you're on the Governing Body

  look at the governing body.

  none of them believe now what the wts believed back when they were born and later baptized.. so why aren't they disfellowshipped for apostasy?.

  simple - because the true beliefs are always taken to mean whatever they currently consider them to be.. think about it - they can never be apostates because whatever they decide to believe becomes "the truth" and anyone not believing it is then guilty of apostasy, even if they believe things the wts has taught them all their lives.. if you do believe in the bible and jesus story, do you think this is what he intended?

  all you people, that have not regularly reported time will be sorry when wt distributes the 14,4 000 millions+ using all the time you uninterruptedly reported. ha ha.
