The Military Failure of the United States of America. Why?
by fulltimestudent inthe usa is undoubtedly the strongest military power in the world, and has often been willing to use that power against other nations, some historians count 187 foreign wars in 200 years, and this youtube video lists the wars the us has fought in the twentieth century, most of which, (in the earliest part of the 20th c) it can be argued, were won by the usa.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q51nfakme-g. this is not an argument about the rightness or wrongness of any war.
the argument is why the mightiest ever military power, a political power that controls overwhelming destructive forces, a power that claims to stand on the side of its god, does not win wars?
have you thought about this question?

The USA has never had to slug it out with an equal opponent, and I hope they will never have to. In that case it would be a bloodbath for all. -

The scripture most taken out of context
by Coded Logic infor whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that through patience and through comfort of the scriptures we might have hope.- romans 15:4. ever consider that paul wasn't referencing his own letters to the congregations?
and he certainly wasn't referring to the gospels which hadn't even been written yet.
anybody else ever notice this?.

he never claimed that his writings were of divine inspiration. He came close though, when he claimed his instructions to "All the congregations of the Holy Ones--- (1 Cor. 14:33) to be already divine, saying:"-- because they are the Lord's Commandments" verse 37. and
He must have forgotten, after all that training about 2 Chronicles 18:18 on, (next week's bible reading) , Where Jehovah, in a Job 1 - like setting, basically introduces lying on his behalf to all the cosmos, enough to " set things straight" seeing that this could not possibly of value.

Should JWs perform immigration screening for jihadiis ?
by gone for good injehovah's witlesses worship and serve the same desert god as do all the worlds jihadists.
both these groups experience the same giddy delight contemplating the worldwide annihilation of infidels .
jihadists and jw's share the same wet dream of theocracy - the idea that public governance is best left to an invisible genocidal, misogynistic homophobic, sadistic, megalomaniacal bully...and his (male) earthly imitators.. jw's and jihadiis both covet their delusion of imagining themselves as the sole survivors of a global bloodbath - think of the stupendous irony there!.

Many jws would easily adapt to Isis rule; - instead of bowing to Brooklyn/Warwick, reprogram the theocratic GPS to mecca. or the local Imman instead of the Coordinator of TBOE or CO. (sooner or later the same person)

Elders who dislike other congregation elders
by RULES & REGULATIONS inmy congregation had four elders who had different personalities.you would see a little friction among themselves.. #1 self-righteous and the 800 pound gorilla.he would push everyone around in the congregation and even some fellow elders.. # 2 elder was around 80 years old and looked like he stuck around a little too long.it looked like he was around because he never decided to give up the position.his duty became very light as he aged.. # 3 elder was in his early 30's and newly elected.he made no waves and whatever was asked of him in the congregation he would do.easy to push around like a little puppy dog.. #4 elder (who everyone liked ) was easy to get along with and had a family who everyone loved.
he didn't like elder # 1. they had a power struggle amongst each other which everyone observed while the meetings were in session.. here are 2 small verbal fights that i observed while the congregation meetings were in session:.
while elder # 1 was giving a talk ( heavy rain storms are brewing outside with loud thunder and lightning ) the microphones and lights are knocked out.we lost all power and could barely see.

Revolving position was based on the Governing body in Acts (circumcision / blood) procedure, where at one point Peter, and later James seem to be presiding so, in the 60s- 70- there was a time after the new "elder" arrangement was introduced, where all "positions".- Presiding overseer, Field service overseer, the school, bible studies, secretary, even book study conductors were rotated in and out of work areas, in sequence. A great experience showing latent talent. It really irked the controlling, bloated egos. With many congregations thriving. -

The "faithful and discreet slave class" - Past, Present and Future
by truthseeker iniv) believe that jesus christ is mediator for "the faithful and discreet slave".
today, that "slave" is represented by the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.

The greatest losers in the switch from the faithful & slave Class to the Brooklyn 7 only FDS are : the ladies. No more females in that club. anointed sisters might in the future run the universe, judge angels, but can not be part of the F&DS. Merkel ( Time's person of the year) mark that. -

Pete Zahutlong ago had become a revolving position. AH, the revolving position, a breath of fresh air. The Dominators hated that so much. from presiding overseer to school servant. The time of the big increases. Part of my assignments as special pioneer was to neutralize super egos and bring sanity back to dysfunctional, gridlocked congregations. Underwhelm them with power from above (the branch).

Finally heard a Dub defend overlapping generations
by Socrateswannabe insince the overlapping generations doctrine was introduced, i have found the jws i know to be uncharacteristically silent on the subject.
i can't remember hearing a single dub try to defend this idiocy.
but that all ended recently.

"the example of Freddy Franz being overlapped was just what she needed to clear up her understanding. In her words, it now "all makes perfect sense". so: -- does she realize, that Frederic Franz being overlapped by a similar anointed will push back Armageddon into the 2070s, 2075 possibly?
FF died 1992 , 78 years from 1914, 1992+78= 2070, rapture and Armageddon later.

John-1-1-Colossians-1-16-all-other-things - Part 2
by Wonderment incontinued from part 1 (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/5097191899136000/john-1-1-colossians-1-16-all-other-things):.
the nw translation and some of its unique renderings, like john 1.1- "a god," and colossians 1.16 - "all other things," have been consistently at the top of the most debated topics here in this forum and elsewhere from the beginning.
the anger felt by detractors of the nwt rendering of john 1.1 (a god) has diminished considerably if compared to the furious debates surrounding the verse that raged on during the 1950 thru 1970s.

The problem with "other" is that it would classify the prehuman "jesus" as a thing, whereas to be a co-creator he would have to be a non-material entity; --spiritual, invisible, like his presence since 1914.
