Fisherman: And that makes sense because science would be pointless and reality would be a lie if we could not have faith in the world around us, so our science would be a shared experience we would have with a creator. The true "eureka" moments might be as close to the divine we could get, or passing on life and seeing and hearing a newborn.

I am too disorganized to keep tab of the links , but recall reading (no videos for me anymore), that there is additional energy in the expanding space appearing that is driving the accelerating expansion of the universe. how could it be expanding if there is not more energy? The thought was expressed that this (dark?) additional energy is a property of the void, and to my thinking that word implies the same realm that existed before, therefore also still "outside" the universe. If these fluctuations that triggered the "freezing" of energy into matter happen only "inside" or "after" the start, happened only "in" our realm of moving through time, , how can they be the cause? there has to be a reach into time before we started moving through it !?
The picture I have from what I read is, that an expanding universe would incorporate more and more of the energy that is latent, that was there before the beginning, before the universe started expanding. We might be off topic though, because the discussion was about "god" and not a creator and creative processes. . The Universe looks so much like something the best minds of man and womankind would concoct and make --eventually--, that work is the best analogy we have to explain existence.

Even discounting belief in a creator, just for the alleged effects of virtual particles popping in and out of existence, the theorists tentatively acknowledge that time exists prior to movement through it that carries us into the future. -

Fisherman; "--I also do not believe that time and empty space always existed before the universe--" you are right, our 3 space dimensions, empty or filled with matter, are not eternal, they started expanding , that is moving through time in our beginning aka the "big bang" However, if you consider the creator to be eternal, he must have existed in it, Time has to be the property of a creator in every sense of the word. only he is not moving through it as we do. even creation is moving through time at different speeds. Time does not flow , it is stationary, we flow through it, not even stopping for the now, one moment. We have momentum moving through time. -

"--the total sum energy of our universe is zero.--" wrong imho. just because the dynamic energy (movement) nearly balances the energy locked up in the form of matter (hence gravity), and the two balance, like in the Earth's orbit does not mean that there is zero energy in the system, au contraire, there are 2 not zero energies. 2 energies that are balanced, but add up to two, just like the weight and the merchandise on the other side of the balance scale. and:

While the presence of energy. and by extension time is understood to be present in the void is no proof that a creator exist, it at least proves that conditions existed that made creative works possible, god? that is another question.

and interesting aside: bunn mentioned among the unappreciative those drawing government welfare. yeah, easy money is never truly appreciated, not earned.
