  CounterPoint to Reasoning Book

  as part of helping myself and my family to see past the smoke and curtains, i have started on a journey to write and publish an e-book that will present counterpoints to "reasoning from the scriptures".

  i am looking to see if there are any out there that might contribute, since i want to handle each point covered in that book (and complete it before the end of this system - oops, sometimes flashbacks occur).

  Two Jehovahs Witnesses Beheaded!

  muslim rebels in the southern philippines have beheaded two christian hostages, part of a group of jehovah's witnesses seized on tuesday.

  the two severed heads were found by the philippines military on the remote southern island of jolo.

  the army chief on jolo, brigadier general romeo tolentino, said that a note was attached to one of the heads, saying: "those who do not believe in allah will suffer the same fate.

  An old man's childish small-scale rebellion

  i was a socialist / communist and a hippie before turning a witness, always looking out for chances to disrupt the harmony and tranquility, for putting sand in the machinery of the authorities.

  was a "liberal" elder for 24 years, always thinking people's intentions and attempts were the main thing, not looking for faults or shortcomings.

  but it always amused me when i could tell the co-elders they had handled things not in accordance with procedures, as i was very good at remembering things and loved it when i was able to point to incorrect dealings from the side of the "hardliners".. anyway, i resigned as an elder after 24 years half a year ago, in protest, after having written many and long letters and made sure my action was read and received by many; the issue was the extent of one's contact with disfellowshipped children, where i was not in agreement with official policy.

  How Do You Unwind?

  lately, i've found listening to my "simpsons" cds while i'm driving home from work to be very helpful in de-stressing.

  they always make me laugh, and it's far less depressing than listening to the news on the radio while i'm driving.. i've also been known to have bubble baths by candle light with a good relaxing cd playing (i have one that's of thunderstorms which is one of my favorites).

  glass of wine optional.

  Mmmm......

  I used to take a bubble bath, listen to relaxing music (light pop or newage), give myself a facial and pedicure and indulge in a great mystery book or TV feature.

  But now a kiss from my future husband on my forehead makes such a difference.

  Oh, I shouldn't forget a cup of chamomile tea, too - either hot or cold.

  Wow, pomegranate, great story!

  The elder who was the source of the slanderous accusations in the other hall, moved into the same hall we were presently attending. My wife and I were numb and dumbfounded. My brother (PO) knowing full well our past situation with this brother comes up to me and says, Is this going to affect you?

  Just for my curiousity, did they ever give you a reason for this? This is just unblievable!
