Hi, Atlas! Welcome!
My favorite is "Crisis of Conscience."
charles atlas here.
i thought i would take time out of my busy day building my big bulging biceps to say "hi!
" to my fellow former watchtower inmates.

Hi! Welcome to the board!
i know many have quoted ridiculous statements from the assemblies etc., i just wonder what irked you most off of the platform in your own kh.. the one that sticks out in my mind was when we had a guest speaker on a sunday for the public talk.
i don't remember the theme but his main point was the starving people in africa did not need food.
he stated they needed spiritual food and would opt for that over a meal because they realize they could eat in the new order and there was no need to send any donations directly.
A few months after 9/11, a guest speaker from Bethel said that when the jws brought Watchtower megazines to the Ground Zero, other religious groups brought food and water. And he said,"They (meaning other religious groups) should have known better."
A guest speaker on Sunday, he was telling us about a child who had to go to the summer school and miss the district convention. On a school day, the school bus got into a serious accident injuring (or killing) this child. He blamed the kid and his parents for choosing the worldly thing over attending the convention.
After the Silent Lambs exposure on Dateline, we had a convention. The chairman of the convention (brother Pearse from Oakland, CA) said, "Don't tell anyone about this. Don't even discuss among you. If this bothers your conscience, there is something wrong with your conscience."
just to let you all know why i won't be able to post for some time...i am finally getting in to the hospital for a much-needed operation that kept being postponed.
i have been back and forth to three different hospitals and various doctor's offices for tests, x-rays, consults and then more pre-op tests and x-rays.
(i have never heard of "nuclear testing before now...i wondered if they were going to send me to nasa!
I'll be thinking of you, sunspot. {{{{{{{{{{{{{Hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
do you think a married woman should go out provocatively dressed?
some of my friends accept it some don't and one had big arguments with his wife about the issue until the time when he cunningly got her to become overweight something that spoilt her good looks.
think of it, a married woman going out wearing tight shorts showing so much leg and buttocks and a top that reveals too much breast, as if almost saying "i am going out to entice some men", should a dignified husband accept that?
one had big arguments with his wife about the issue until the time when he cunningly got her to become overweight something that spoilt her good looks.
No way!!!
Hmm...I gained weight after my baby. Maybe it is a consipiracy of my husband. You think?
for me, on the positive side, having some religious training did keep me out of trouble growing up.
now, on the other hand.....
I'm more self-confident, thoughtful, reasonable, rational, and liberal. Looking back I can't believe how much insecure and naive I was. If I was as strong as I am now then, I would have made a different choice. Sigh....as they say, "Live and Learn."
not my physical birthday, but i just noticed when i logged on this morning, that it was 4 years ago today that i first logged on here.
i've learned alot on here in the last 4 years i learned about the whole 586/607bce date, i discovered crisis of conscience (which played a major part in my leaving the borg), i've learned about the society's inconsistencies in the blood doctrine, as well as host of other doctrines and issues that i would have never known about in the days before the internet.
as well, i would have never made contact with those i've become "particularly fond of" on here.
here is a few pics of our home...they are not very good though ...lol...i don't have any pictures up yet, most of my plants are setting on my table (still), some stuff is still out in the moving van and our grass is not in and garage is not built (the cut lumber in our yard is going to be milled and used for our deck and garage)!
kitchen.
here's our back yard ...but since we faced the home inwards..i guess it's our front yard!..lol.
Wow! I love the open plan of your house. How big (square footage)? How many bedrooms? Your house would worth several millions of dollars in CA. Wow, and you live in Prince Edward Island? Anne of Green Gable!!!!
.
for all you geography nerds out there...can you guess where this picture was taken?
i'll give another clue later.
I don't see any palm tree so it can't be California. I was thinking more of Oregon or Washington state. I guess I was kinda close.
i care about all of you.
i love some of you and have told you that, some i love and haven't told (yet).
for some of us, those here truly are family and friends.
I do. That's why I post.
