The first thing that came to my mind after reading that was 'next this guy will be agreeing with female genital mutilation... "why not but the girls out of their sex crazied misery and do them a favour, then their virtue will be intact and everyone will be happy". What Id like to know was if this guy was ever married, if so for how long did his poor wife tolerate this 'put the girlys in their place' attitude?
I used to really hate the position that women were deligated in the congregation. I used to sit through bible readings and watchtower studies with grit teeth as guys would stumble through mispronouncing words and clearly not understanding what they were reading. Extremely frustrating when your a speed reader, with an above average IQ. My father used to glare at me because I would groan quite audibly everytime certain individuals would make a mistake reading...I only did it to piss them off though.

Unevenly Choked
by RedhorseWoman inhe hit you, and your parents think all you need to resolve are spiritual matters?
run.....really fast.. what this brother did was to assault you.
you would be well within your rights to charge him with that.. one of my friends married a brother who seemed absolutely wonderful.....a little tempermental, but his father was an elder and he was well thought of in the congregation.

Oh Seven !! you run girl and dont look back. People who need to resort to violence to get their point across just arent emotionally mature, perhaps thats the way they learned to deal with things from their parents, whatever the reason is you dont have to be anyones punching bag. If every time your together you fight then there seems to be an underlying problem ( probably on his side by the sound of it) that isnt been discussed and the tension or frustration is resurfacing in other more mundain things. Couples can argue about things...if we all had the same opinions what a boring world this would be, but to lash out physically to get your point across is just showing a lack of self control (maybe you should drag him to the elders! I know what Im talking about, Ive experienced it first hand. First you justify their behaviour by blaming yourself..."I provoked it" ..."Im not good enough"...then you tell your self so actually might deserve it.
After a while you lose your self respect and you lose respect for them...try loving someone you have no respect for...it doesnt work.
He needs to get some counciling or something but thats not your problem either. Hes got to recognise and admit he has a problem and then do something about it.
Messing up and then doing the flowers, chocolate, Im sorry routine just doesnt cut it. Hes not sorry, hes just sucking up and as long as you put up with it that will be the standard of the relationship. -

Sorry Waiting
I dont usually blurt out nasty name calling like that, but he/she drove me to it. It must be an aussie thing...it translates as MORON. All I can say to who ever they might be is "get a life, dont you have some door knocking to do or something?!"

All I can say to you Sysadmin is that you are a FUCK KNUCKLE!!!
(Please excuse the language everyone, but it had to be said)
And heres a little song you might like.....No More!
The crap roll out of your mouth again
Haven't changed, your brain is still gelatin
Little whispers circle around your head
Why dont you worry about yourself instead
Who are you? Where ya been? Where ya from?
Gossip is burning on the tip of your tongue
You lie so much you believe yourself
Judge not lest ye be judged yourself
Holier than thou
You are
Holier than thou
You are
You know not
Before you judge me take a look at you
Cant you find something better to do
Point the finger, slow to understand
Arrogance and ignorance go hand in hand
Its not who you are, its who you know
Others lives are the basis of your own
Burn your bridges build them back with wealth
Judge not lest ye be judges yourself
Holier than thou
You are
Holier than thou
You are
You know not

100 foreskins for your daughter
by Zep inthought dating and marriage was tough in the year 2000...well just check out what david had to go through.. david wants to marry michal, sauls daughter.so whats he have to do?.
samuel 18:25-28. at that saul said: "this is what you men will say to david, "the king has delight, not in marriage money, but in a hundred foreskins of the philistines".
so david rose and struck down among the philistines two hundred men, and came bringing their foreskins and giving them in full number to the king to form a marriage alliance with the king.. lol

Which makes me wonder what Saul did with 100 foreskins.
This guy was seriously kinky.
I also remember a bible reading a long time ago and a young brother was asked to read 1 Tim 5:1
but he got a little mixed up and read out "Do not severly circumcise an older man......" we would hope not!!!! -

Phew!! what a lot of reading and now my head is spinning, but its kind of freaky because Ive had this very train of thought going round my head for the last couple of days. Ive come to the conclusion that the bible could pass as another book by Tolkien, what with all the strange creatures, good conquoring evil and having tests to pass etc etc etc.
It all seems like a really sick joke to prove a point. If God is all seeing, all knowing then he knows the final outcome. Why not put us all out of our misery and get it over with. I just get sick to the stomach when i think of all the suffering that has occured in the past hundreds of years (granted it was all mankind against mankind) but when you think of all the people who've been murdered, tortured, starved to death, mutilated....you get the picture, when is the ref going to step on to the ball field and blow his whistle and hold up a yellow card?
It just seems like a bit too much overkill at the sake of proving a point, especially when he knows the outcome.
Even as a kid the story of Job never sat right with me. I mean the guy lost ( i forget) quite a few kids and what he was supposed to be overjoyed at getting them replaced with new kids. Im sorry but as a mother i can honestly say that if you lost a child, a million children would never make up for the one you lost. That story seemed to treat life as a commodity, easily expended to prove a point.
Ok Ive had my whinge for the day.
You can all get back to your D & M. Some thought provoking stuff though guys.
Where do you get all those quotes from Waiting? -

Just between you and me, I always had a soft spot for Grizzly Adams.
But seriously I know 2 guys that were born with a cleft lip and theyve both grown moustaches to cover the scar...does that mean they have to shave it off if they want to get anywhere in the truth?
Shaving is a manmade idea. Guys cant help it if they have facial hair. Im sure Adam didnt just stumble across a razor one day out strolling in the garden and take it home to Eve and say " I think Im gunna shave all the hair off my face from now on, what do you reckon?"
Maybe the society has a lot of shares in Gillette?
How come sisters arent required to grow their hair long? I seem to remember a scripture about how good it was for them to have long hair. Am I right? -

Rhw, perhaps you were thinking Anne Rice rules!!
Lots of talented and gifted people have the problem of thinking quicker than they can communicate the thoughts...I just made that up, but it sounds like a good theory!
Patricia Cornwell is good, for the medically inclined. Steven King is a big favourite, but as far as anti JW stuff, Ive left it alone.
Its probably my JW upbringing 'you mustnt read apostate stuff..blah blah blah', but ive got a head on my shoulders and I really dont slag off about the society to others ( I have my point of view and grievances), but I dont really want to read someone elses slagging off about them either.
Up until now this site is the only time Ive spoken about being a JW and its affects on my life.
