2017 Convention Video To Be Shown Regarding The 1975 Failure
by pale.emperor inhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=go3arnnsfkk&feature=youtu.be.
no mention whatsoever that it was watchtower themselves that strongly hinted towards this date.
instead they blame those who "put their trust in a date, not jehovah".. let's recap... .

This is simply amazing. How dare they try and rewrite history and adopt the denial mode. How dare they try and blame their trusting elders and congregations for highlighting 1975. Younger ones might be tempted to fall for this spin but anyone over 40 years old is not so easily fooled....Shame on the GB. Shame. -

"Russian Supreme Court Renders Unjust Decision!" on JW Broadcasting
by The freewheeling in(this is an attempt to translate something i wrote on my swedish website: sanningen om sanningen.
i do not hope it is all too bad translation, based on google translate)___________________.

Satan persecutes, Jehovah protects... Pays your money and take your choice. JWs might also revive the old kings of north/south idea and claim that Russia is the King of north and is banning them to prevent them from identifying Russia as that king.... Whatever happens, JWs will twist/use it to bolster doctrines old and new..Perhaps Russia is engaged in public protection from religion. So many of the world's wars/terrorism stem from religion. Very much a case of being the wound and not the bandage it often claims....

August 2017 Watchtower - Screwing with J.W.'s minds again
by The Searcher inin the latest issue of double-speak, i'd like to highlight these two statements:.
page 3, par.
2 - "...how encouraging it is to know that jehovah’s faithful servants in the past felt free to express the same question that may loom in our minds, and they were not condemned for asking it!
-

The clue is the phrase ' in the past'... Ok then, but not ok now to exercise free thinking. Hence the following phrase ' may loom in our mind'. Keep such thoughts in the mind, not in public domain.

When did the Iron Age start according to the Bible? You'll be surprised!
by Crazyguy inread this over at reddit so the credit goes to the person over there but in genesis 4:22 it's say one of the offspring of adam knew how to work with iron roughly 130 years after the creation of man.
now historians and scientists say man didn't figure out how to use iron until about 1100 bc, man we're we wrong!
it's also interesting that cain is building a city when there like 10 people on the planet and nimrod goes on to build the tower of babel only about 100 year after the flood.

The Iron age began when they put creases in trousers. Obvious....

Attending the 2017 Memorial
by Disassociated Lady 2 inafter contemplating whether or not to attend the memorial this year i finally went.
this time last year i had been reinstated and within weeks the elders summoned me to the kh to interrogate me about my past and place of residence.
i was angry with them and lost my temper and stood up to them.

After I had been DF , for 'brazen conduct,' ( as I had taken one of my late wife's carer's out for a daytime meal to thank her for her help, and refused to admit it was wrong to do), I continued to attend the meetings for around 8 months or so. All that time, a certain well grounded and respected elder ( a genuinely intelligent and sensitive man as it happens) always came over to acknowledge me and pat my shoulder. His kindness and obvious concern stood out compared to other so called christian elders who at my Judical hearing seemed unable to comprehend basic human kindness. There are genuinely caring and compassionate men in the congregations, ( and women too.!) but most seem afraid to broach corporate policy and act human.

Was it just me or was something different about the memorial last night?
by kpop inthis was the first memorial that i declined to do any work for the memorial.
i was assigned as a parking attendant after getting downgraded from doing the sound and had no intention of doing either task but i had to attend for my family and continuation of my fade.
i sat there last night listening to the talk and couldn't help but shake my head as my brain attempted to process the bs.

locally hall was busy, but that's just because two congregations have now reverted to just one, as finances and attendances fall. Apparently talk was dull in the extreme and a friend of mine who attended told me that most rushed to leave after....

We hid from JW's !!
by Phizzy inwell, not exactly hid, but we did what homeowners used to do to us when we were door knocking as jw's.. they trundled in to my street about half past four this afternoon, delivering memorial invitations, one jw lady who i have known since she was born, looked right at me through my street facing window, it was then i realised who they were.. i was semi-naked having just come in from sunbathing, and mrs phizzy said " i am not going to the door if they ring".
i said "well, i can't be arsed to get dressed so they can just ring !"..
eventually they sent a youngish lady who i did not recognise, she rang the bell, we did not answer, so she shoved the invite through the door.. i kind of feel strange about this, if they come to my door i usually chew the fat with them, but it also felt kind of liberating to just ignore them.. i do feel that they will think i was too cowardly to answer the door, which i know is not so, i simply could not be arsed, but then, who cares what they think ?

I was working in a garden , one of several in a small open cul de sac locally , and the owners were sitting on garden bench close to the pavement, when a JW, an elder, was calling on homes. He rang each doorbell, and waited a little, but got no replies, as most people just ignored him. I knew most were in at the time as I'd seen them! Then he came to my client's home. He didn't see me watching him a few yards away. He rang the bell, I heard it ,but the clients didn't. He then walked right past my client's and said nothing!! He could have had an informal chat, invited them to the memorial, or even just acknowledged them, but he did absolutely nothing!!! What a waste of time witnessing has become these days. No effort to reach people. I couldn't believe it when he just walked past them!!!!! This man is a wel known 'senior' elder. I guess because he was on his own he could get away with just a token service effort....To think when I was 'in', I never ignored anyone, and made effort to talk with everyone...Things have changed a lot in the few years since...Why??
