Sister may have had a slight heart attack, do I text her?
by Xanthippe inso my cousin phoned and told me my jw sister was taken to hospital with chest pains and it may have been a slight heart attack or possibly she's starting with angina.
now as some of you know my sisters and brother have had little to do with me for 29 years.
we've met at funerals, or arranged them, but i just thought today what if she did die?

The hypocrisy of today's Watchtower
by UnshackleTheChains ini don't really need to explain anything really.
all i can say is that i was gob smacked at the sheer audaciousness of the entire study article.
i'm still speechless.

Yes, pale emperor, those three chairs, arms folded, expressions hardened, hearts dead, prejudged, fate sealed. Pointless exercise...serves only to humilate the 'accused'. An exercise in voyeurism.....More love in an abattoir..

Of course it was done deliberately..nothing is left to chance. More to this than meets the eye..literally. But why? What is the real truth behind the public image of a charity...?...Were I still in, I'd be alarmed...but then if I was still in I'd never look at anything that would challenge my conditioned beliefs...would I?..

Did man really go to the moon?
by atomant inl have researched this subject and come to the conclusion that no we didn't.what do others think?.
-
westiebilly11
My doubts...did technology really exist capable of ensuring safe transport of men to moon back in late 1960's?...where are photos of debris etc left behind on moon surface?....I keep an open mind as I was old enough to have watched it all on TV..! It seemed real, but TV etc was all low tech and so we could all have been fooled...

Aux pioneering ( as it was back then..) and Pioneering etc took real effort and planning. It was hard. These days it's virtually standing on street corner with a cart...effortless, but easy to rack up hours and numbers..

This marvellous book needs to be re released now. Very timely and , to misquote, 'Food at the needed/proper time..'....It has so much relevance in these distorted times.

Positive Topic - ‘Good Elders’ or Extra Special Kindness shown by elders
by Farmer Jim1 inafter the last topic getting me mad, does anyone have a positive experience of dealing with an elder or a particular favourite elder that was a top bloke?.

Very much so. I've been fortunate to know several truly kind, helpful, human elders over the years. Sadly, most have since died in those 35 years or so. My first study was with a lovely elder who went out of his way to help me practically and emotionally. He had a young family but still made time for me, a single man , living on my own. At Christmas time he'd invite me round to spend some time with his family and he gave up weekends to repair my car, fix a towbar, and even invited me to go camping with him and his family. He wasn't grooming me, or 'love bombing' me as some do. I shall always remember him fondly. Sadly he died some ten years ago from cancer. Another elder was giving the first talk I ever heard (Noah and the Ark...) and over the years showed me great friendship. Even after I was DF for 'brazen conduct' ( another story..another time..) he gave me a smile when I bravely attended meetings, and would gently pat my shoulder in a welcoming manner. I always remember him saying: "I've eaten enough of this loaf to know it's genuine" with reference to the 'Truth'...He too, has only recently died. Whilst there are some dodgy. fake elders who seek the badge and 'glory', and are elders only through nepotistic networks, whilst keeping their hands clean from menial tasks,, there are some who are truly gems and serve because they really do care. I miss those good ones.

Crazy statements from JWTalk
by Jehovah lol ini'm sure many of you are aware of the jwtalk site, a message board which has yet to succumb to apostasy (give it time).. some of the forums there are visible to the public, and i've seen some crazy stuff.
here is a sampling:.
"satan is really trying his best to make things worst for the witnesses, knowing the 6,000 years is almost up, from eve's creation!".

Very silly for them to grasp at transient events and 'obsolete' publications for hope. To say that the 1988 Revelation Book is outdated, yet in the next breath place timescale reliance on the even older 1917 Finished Mystery book is duplicious and just double speak. As the big book says: 'Expectation postponed makes the heart sick'.... Clutching at straws and trying to re write prophecy is a sure recipe for those more intelligent ones to wake and walk......Just as with metal, there is a limit to the number of times it can be twisted before it snaps......
