The Evil Masterminds Behind COVID-19: Charmin and Cottonelle
by keyser soze inof all the things people decided they needed to stockpile for a potential quarantine.
all of the stores around my area ran completely out of toilet paper this last weekend.
people were piling it into their carts and vehicles as if they were going to be holed up for a year.

Other hazardous surfaces include cash machines, road pedestrian crossings, car park machines etc etc. the list is almost endless. Best course of action is to wash hands often. We've been told face masks are not very effective. Personally, we're avoiding going out to public places such as restaurants etc. I wonder if the org will abandon meetings and field service etc for the foreseeable (!) future....many of the cong elderly members are at risk. As for hand gels etc, prices have reached silly levels on ebay etc. Perhaps time for govt to issue free gels etc,

May 2020 Watchtower They Admit, they don't know
by Listener inthey'll write pages and pages of stuff and yet they don't have any idea.. here's a paragraph from their latest speculations on future events, bolding is mine.. a prophecy recorded by ezekiel gives some insight into what may happen during the last days of the king of the north and the king of the south.
if we view the prophecies of ezekiel 38:10-23; daniel 2:43-45; 11:44–12:1; and revelation 16:13-16, 21 as speaking about the same time period and events, it appears that we can expect the following developments.. that's an awful lot of assumptions to make.
what they've done is picked out various scriptures from different parts of the bible and now state that they may or may not be talking about the same events.

So different from years ago, when we studied types and antitypes, foreshadows, etc.....and were led to believe that such material was assured and definite. Now it seems to be driftng into realms of speculation and hedging bets. Perhaps the passing of time has defeated them....

Dear Black Twisted, Hope you are well and enjoying life post Armageddon. Your post, 9 years ago, seems rather premature, don't you think?. Hope your eyes are opened. Regards. (Near, too near...) Expectation postponed makes the heart sick.

What The Fossils Say
by cofty inthe old creation book had a lot to say about the fossil record.
if i remember correctly it was some lie about all the fossils ever found would fit on a single table.
the reality is that there is an embarrassment of riches illustrating the evolution of life.

I'm starting to read Darwin's Doubts....book. I'll be honest, I'm keeping a very open mind. I have been reading the Beyond Today magazine too , which has a very interesting article on the subject. I was brought up to believe evolution, but am finding it hard to accept. I even gave several talks at the hall on this. Yes, I know, many will say I've been indoctrinated by being a JW, (1981-2013), but many scientists too, are questioning their once unquestionable stance... sigh...Please don't shoot me down! LIke all of us, I want to know!

Anyone have someone move in and take over the congergation?
by rickroll ini have been in two congregations where someone moved in from the big city and took over with the attitude of the northerners when they go south, i come from where they do it right.
like bulls in china shops they remove people and do the house cleaning like the political org cult it is.

Yes, this happened with our old congregation. A transferred elder was made PO and within a few short months had managed to interfere and upset more than one family. His wife was one who would enjoy taking centre stage in answering a study question.. He took it upon himself to conduct a ' purge' of the congregation and it's elders. After several years, and ,no doubt, having come to the notice of higher ups via visiting Circuit Overseers, he has now been returned to his original congregation. I later found out that in Ireland, his original place of inception, he caused mayhem and misery there too. He lacked empathy and was really quite judgmental. I longed to tell him it was no one man owns a congregation......

What Biblical message should be proclaimed now according to Jesus himself ?
by Alex Williams inthis is what jesus said.
matt 24-14.
14 and this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.. looking at this verse what is the central theme?

Religion seems to have nothing to say about anything. Like the proverbial ostrich, it has buried it's head in darkness and awaits a proverbial kick up the rear. What message do JW's have to share these days?

Shift in beliefs?
by blankspace ini was wondering whether anyone observed this point in the previous week's wt study, in paragraph 17: "jehovah’s spirit moves “the faithful steward” to keep giving his servants their food supply.".
i see this as a subtle move away from earlier claims to be channel for spiritual food.
the gb earlier said that they weren't inspired or infallible.
-
westiebilly11
If they profess to err etc and are not inspired or infallible, then how can they come down on 'honest' ones who express sincere reservations within their ranks? There may be some who seek truth and yet may disagree with the society's 'current' thinking...perhaps it's time for open discussion at meetings rather than just swallow and regurgitate present day doctrines..
