Very good points re trustees taking out personal liability insurance. Locally, several 'trustees' are quite young men who view trusteeship as a wonderful privilege..not a liability... All potential trustees should seek independent legal advice before accepting trusteeship...

Court documents reveal Watchtower's tactics in Montana child abuse case
by LevelThePlayingField inthere were numerous objections and claims that watchtower lawyers made to try and get out of being held responsible for their negligence and malice.
here’s the juicy ones:.
montana is a mandatory reporting state, but watchtower lawyers claimed that the law for reporting abuse only applies to “individuals” and they are “corporations”.

JW org collapses
by I Faded Twice inok so this is a topic i've pondered and go back and forth on.. i can easily see a point where lawsuits cause massive deficits in the organization.
honestly i feel like we are seeing the tip of the iceberg in regards to lawsuits on child abuse.
to me it looks like the property sell offs are to be able to get ready for this.

As a registered charity surely they are subject to rigorous audits?. Any financial wobbles would surely be picked up by the relevant authorities?...

Dis-fellowshipped For Not Going To The Kingdom Hall You Are Assigned Too
by new boy inmy parents started attending the glendora congregation in 1961. my mother had a strange feeling about the congregation.
there was something going on there that just didn’t feel right.
there was a huge exodus going on of people leaving this congregation’s kingdom hall too.

When I was DF several years ago, for 'Brazen Conduct' ( treating a carer to a meal after going out of her way to care for my ill wife, broad daylight, public restaurant..) the reason for my DF was not given when announced. So, tongues wagged and rumours started....and no way for me to explain myself. The PO who announced it has since been removed for other reasons.Very one sided. Very cruel.

Tragic for all concerned.. Nothing to be gained from mocking them.. They are fellow humans and we should feel for them....

JW’s do NOT shun... (apprently)
by pale.emperor inmy quora campaign of answering all jw related questions truthfully with evidence is going well.
however, one jw had the audacity to claim that "jws do not shun".
they seem to want to present a fake, squeeky clean image to non-members and seem to get angry when answering questions regarding shunning.. like this asshole, dennis cybulski.

In the six years since I was df for 'brazen conduct' by having meal with my late wife's carer , I have had no visits from any elder etc . Despite my making it clear , at the time, that I wanted 'in'.... Of course they shun. They avoid eye contact in public, they fail to repond to polite 'good morning' etc...Yep, they shun. For them to say otherwise is a blatant lie.

why the watchtower is so short of money
by pepperheart inthe watchtower is so short of money because they have to pay for all the upkeep of so many branch offices around the world.because so many of the branch offices are in very poor countries and they are not balancing the budgets.

What JWs do right, and what they do wrong.
by pleaseresearch inso tonight i'm going to be having a chat with my brother and hes asked me what my thought are on the above question.. i could be wrong with what im about to say but i do think the door to door ministry is one thing they are doing right.
i think the cart work on the other hand is wrong.
just today i saw two sisters sat next to their cart with people going by.

Cart work is a sham. Locally I've seen 4 witnesses stationed with a cart ,milling around each other to give the illusion that there is something of interest for genuine members of the public to ' investigate'...No doubt hours are counted..but what a shame compared to what it once meant to be engaged in the ministry...

Youth and Spiritual Goals in this week's WT study (Are you F-ing kidding me?)
by TerryWalstrom ini regret following the wrong goals when i was a young person.
such as?such as spending a hundred hours a month of my precious youth rapping my unwrinkled knuckles on doors and waving soon-to-be-obsolete religious messages in front of aghast householders.such as spending my 20th, 21st, and part of my 22nd years in prison imagining anything useful was happening or that i was pleasing the big guy in the sky.such as taking a crappy job as a janitor and trying to support my family on beans and rice while i peddled cult materials, arguing with people who were better educated about fantasy scenarios i was brainwashed into parroting.such as making excuses for my depressing existence for my empty feeling of constant depression by consoling myself that soon billions of people would be annihilated--except for me and those i was able to convince to waste their time too.thanks, watchtower for twenty years of dry rot for my brain, a jehovah sized hole in my heart, and a great big "thank you" in the form of shunning from all my wonderful spiritual brothers and sisters for all my efforts.sure am i glad i didn't "waste" my youth on education, career, lifelong friends, and (gasp) fun!i was 12 years old when i was introduced to the watchtower and the kingdom hall.23 years later, i walked out a free man.the emotional damage took decades to reconcile.i'm 71 and i'd be thrilled to have those 23 years back!the watchtower is one of the most insidious time-devouring organizations on our planet.thanks for nothing!____________________the above is in answer to:.
