From the files by request: JWs & 'discipline'
by Mommie Dark insomeone asked me to post some of the material i have collected regarding how jws treat kids during their meetings.
the following was culled from my raw files.
those with tender sensibilities might want to read with caution.

Freedom of Thought and JW Opposers
by dunsscot indoes freedom of thought really obtain in this forum?
are those who have left god's organization and jehovah god himself actually now more open-minded and unbiased?
if those who espouse atheistic thoughts or those who believe every vile utterance spoken against jehovah's people think they are now speaking from some olympian perspective, i beg to differ.

The Last Days in the 14th Century
by JanH inthe last days in the 14th century .
all through recorded history there have been people who have pointed to the calamities, horrors and disasters in the world, and preached that this signified an imminent end of the world.
this isnt even unique to christianity, which started off with strong millennial expectations in the 1st century, and for the most part retains the same expectations almost 2000 years later.

IMPORTANT message for Dunsscot
by Mommie Dark ini've noticed you are already having trouble finding enough obfuscatory language with which to dazzle the peasants.
i wanted to ameliorate your situation, since you seem to think using grandiloquent words lends weight to your ideas.
so here is a link for you, i hope you find it useful.

Nourishment for the Spirit
by Maximus inmy observation is that persons who 1) heal/adjust the most rapidly from their jw experience and 2) seem to have the most joy in life are those who read, read, read, in pursuit of what i call nourishment for the spirit.
i've really enjoy the pithy aphorisms you use here, which suggests you've distilled some wisdom from somewhere.
i'm going to ask your help in this thread.

Excellent points. I too agree that many simply accept beliefs they grew up with. I know I did. I call it 'social heredity'. lol
Yes some journeys require more work. I guess its dependent on how far the individual wants to take it. To take the next step requires courage. To begin thinking 'out of the god box'...and yes some need that comfort zone. I think fear has a lot to do with it. The unknown, the never tried before(as in thoughts/ideas)can be quite scary and anxiety producing. To leave crutches aside and explore what is unknown...I realize not everyone can or wants to do this.I mean we're talking total personal responsibility, and ethical responsibility to others.
If god exists or not is no longer of any real importance for me. As far as Im concerned he doesn't. It's a burden of existential angst I no longer carry.I realize it's not out of societys bounds to believe in a supernatural entity because of socialization, past and present.
I hope,in a future time, when scientific illiteracy is not at the level that it is today, that it can change. But until then,it's going to be around. Just some thoughts.
Earrings? I prefer hoops, melt that damned calf already lol. hugs,T -

Losing Loved ones to Death While in the Org..
by Roamingfeline indid anyone lose beloved family members or friends to death while in the org?
if so, how did you feel about it once you came out of the cult and figured out that everything you'd been taught about the new system coming soon, and loved ones being resurrected was a big fat lie you'd been spoonfed?
how did you feel and react to that?.
