  do you believe that someone learns from past...experience?.

  there was a measure of disappointment on the part of jehovah's faithful ones on earth concerning the years 1914, 1918, & 1925, which disappointment lasted for a time.... and they also learned to quit fixing dates.

  Hi mac, You said what 'we' all want is the truth that comes to the world thru jesus"...and I said,not everybody follws the judeo-christian road...what didnt you understand about that?-there are millions and millions of people in this world that do not subscribe to belief in jesus,,,I just took exception to the word 'we' as implying everyone on this board is a christian,,,if I misunderstood what you meant,you can clarify it for me,Im all ears :> thanks,Tina

  Great informative post(as usual :>) I was around,and well remember the 1975 debacle.........how the level of excitation was promoted by talks from the platform and of course,the material you've presented... and then......the resulting blame put on the r/f later......that idiocy was responsible(and Im happy to say) for most of my aunts and uncles leaving the wts),,,they not only minimize but are historical revisionists,,,,,,anyway thanks for the great post!!1 regards,tina

  Where do they sit in your hall?

  what i find bemusing is, if there are any disfellowshipped ones in your hall they have to sit at the back.

  now without getting into the merits/rights/wrongs of whether this should be still acceptable, where do they sit in your hall?

  you see i seem to remember that they would sit on the back row, come in quietly just after the song and prayer and leave at the end just as quick.

  Eminem and censorship

  when my son came home from the meeting, he told me that they were told not to listen to eminem because (in his words) he's bad.. i can not stomach the kind of censorship that is put upon people...aren't these things a personal choice or at least a parents choice.

  by censoring everything they make a child go behind their parents back and close the line of communcation which could result in some real harm.

  i listened to eminem with my son and whilst some of the things are very offensive it was quite clear to me that although he was talking in the first person, he was actually expressing what he thought societal problems were,(no one think bob marley actually son the sheriff do they??).

  Jus a little 'aside' here,since you mentioned those droopy pants and jail. That style got started from jail. (so I'm told,by gang members in my area when I asked)) In jail,you're not allowed to wear belts,so the gangs walked around w/ droopy drawers,they brought that out into the street with them,,,,,,,shakin head here,cheers,Tina :>

  lol,yep marketing strategies, controversy ,like sex, sells. I agree he most likely doesnt know what 'societal ills' means.That's why I think its facetious to call his music metaphoric,,,IMO,he is simply expressing his contempt and hatred,,,,,and that sells too. Cheers,Tina

  I believe they could do so,with no remorse.
  When I think of how they use loaded words to objectify those who have left....'apostates',evil ones,evil slave class,followers of satan,etc etc etc......these words remove any 'humanity' making them merely objectionable objects.Once a group is viewed as no longer human,its quite easy to do away with them....the nazis did that with the jews,,,,,,genocide has always had its inception with objectification of a targeted group...JMO,FWIW,hugs,Tina
