i admit that my mind was more on my imminent packed lunch and flask of coffee but i distinctly heard the speaker make the statement that heads this thread and cite a wt reference.. you what !
i was shocked....... how can they possibly make such an arrogant statement ?

Just to be fair, you will find the following when reading the bible. This is a statement from a recent WT
Wise Guidance for Married Couples w05 3/1 p. 16-18
He said: “Continue dwelling in like manner with [your wives] according to knowledge, assigning them honor as to a weaker vessel, the feminine one, since you are also heirs with them of the undeserved favor of life, in order for your prayers not to be hindered.” (1 Peter 3:7) The seriousness of Peter’s counsel is seen in the final words of that verse. If a husband fails to honor his wife, his relationship with Jehovah will be affected. His prayers will be hindered.
They can easily say that even a baptized person can have his/her prayers hindered. Therefore it is up to Jehovah to determine our sincerity and pureness of heart. The Bible is a book that can be interpreted in any way you wish to use it. IT IS MAN MADE!!!

"Friends" are gone

lots of acquaintances and associates but 2 or 3 i would consider my true friends.
that list is now 0. yup, once i told them i no longer believe in the org and haven't for a long time, and their attempts to encourage me thru jw lingo and terminologies to "rely on jehovah" and not to "stray away" failed that was pretty much it.

Special Pioneer Couple Living at a Kingdom Hall In Miami FL, get the dreaded Letter
by James Jack injust got a phone call from an older sister saying that a couple that got re-assigned from bethel 4 years ago to live at their kh apartment as special pioneers, just received a letter saying "as of january 2016, your special pioneer assignment will be discontinued".. they live in a south miami kh(snapper creek congregation).. this couple had only served in bethel for 15 years before they were sent out into the special pioneer work.
they are now in their mid 50's and the sister said that they have to find part time jobs to support themselves.. the older sister (does not have a pc or internet), says that the couple are just devastated!

Just hours before his execution, Gerhard Steinacher wrote this farewell letter to his parents (translation below). Three lines were censored by the Nazis.
Dear Mother and Father,
Well, there is no point in saying much. I was informed two hours ago, at 7:00 p.m., that I’m to be executed tomorrow at 5:50 a.m. The moment has arrived, Lord give me strength, yes, the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. I am sitting here in a cell, it’s about 1:00 a.m., two other men are in here with me, time is rushing by, I am writing this letter in stages as things come to mind. It’s cold outside, snowing again. May the Lord give you strength. I want to work and I’ve promised both orally and in writing that I will work ambitiously and be completely content. However, I just can’t shoot and everything revolves around this one point. Now, let the Lord’s will take place; what is to happen cannot be stopped. Be strong, do not let this weaken you, but let it bring you closer together, do not give up. I am still a child and I can only stand if the Lord grants me the strength, and I ask him to. I received your last letter marked March 25. The 25th, the last greetings from you. Now it’s around 3:30 a.m. I never thought this would all happen so fast.
