One day assemblies

this may have been discussed before.

the costs for using the assembly hall for a one day last saturday was $12,000 with another assembly for the other half of the circuit on sunday, which will ring up another $12,000.

if the assembly was for two days the friends might roll their eyes if it were announced the costs for the two days was $24,000.

The per capita for our last one day assembly was $10.00 per publisher, the kicker is how they charge $5.50 per publisher for the maintanence of the building and $4.50 per publisher for KH building constructions. So they still charge for the KH constructions from the circuit and when the Jdubs go back to their KH, they get charged again a montly fee designated for construction. What a way to rip people

there is a certain elder in my wives hall that has seemed to developed a real interest her.

first he seemed to feel a need to make sure all her blood cards were signed before she gave birth to our child.. he sends her text messages if she misses a meeting saying how much " we missed you last night ".

he finally sent her a text wondering where her oct hours were , knowing she had some pretty serious tears from child birth and could hardly even walk, much less do field service ".

It has been said in this thread but I want to emphasize it.

This goes against all the training the elders get of never contacting a person from the opposite sex alone. Specially when the spouse is not a JW. You must talk with your wife first about the issue, and make sure she understands that is not because you hate the Jw's. It is to avoid reproach to Jehovah's name (use the JW lingo) then talk with the Coordinator of the body of elders and have this guy present. Let them know that if he does not STOP this asap, you will contact the Circuit Overseer.

Another one bites the dust! I will miss your comments Eden, but worry about living your real life. What happens on this forum should not affect your personal life and if you feel it is better for you to leave, then I wish you the best of luck. As for Viviane... that poster is just another among thousands. We can surely move her to the oblivion and move on!

i was sitting at the recent circuit assembly that i attended, (the things i do for sis blues) and the baptism talk was under way .

i admit that my mind was more on my imminent packed lunch and flask of coffee but i distinctly heard the speaker make the statement that heads this thread and cite a wt reference.. you what !

i was shocked....... how can they possibly make such an arrogant statement ?

Just to be fair, you will find the following when reading the bible. This is a statement from a recent WT

Wise Guidance for Married Couples w05 3/1 p. 16-18

He said: “Continue dwelling in like manner with [your wives] according to knowledge, assigning them honor as to a weaker vessel, the feminine one, since you are also heirs with them of the undeserved favor of life, in order for your prayers not to be hindered.” (1 Peter 3:7) The seriousness of Peter’s counsel is seen in the final words of that verse. If a husband fails to honor his wife, his relationship with Jehovah will be affected. His prayers will be hindered.

They can easily say that even a baptized person can have his/her prayers hindered. Therefore it is up to Jehovah to determine our sincerity and pureness of heart. The Bible is a book that can be interpreted in any way you wish to use it. IT IS MAN MADE!!!

"Friends" are gone

i have (well had) an extremely small circle of jw friends.

lots of acquaintances and associates but 2 or 3 i would consider my true friends.

that list is now 0. yup, once i told them i no longer believe in the org and haven't for a long time, and their attempts to encourage me thru jw lingo and terminologies to "rely on jehovah" and not to "stray away" failed that was pretty much it.

Is not easy to realize that everyone in our lives have only shown us conditional love throughout our entire lives. Nevertheless, life goes on with these people in our lives or not. You now have the opportunity to live free or die a slave.
