But humbled, isn't that what Genesis 22 says about Abraham, that Jehovah himself wanted him to kill his son Isaac and then burn him like an animal on the Altar?

How do JWs Not see how barbaric YHWH is? Its what started my awakening.
by BU2B inif one reads genesis from the first chapter through the end with an open mind, it is clear that not only is it not true, but that god is potrayed as a cruel, petty, childish micromanaging tyrant.
if one continues reading the ot this is just further solidified.
how do jws not see the obvious?

BOE Letter: New Adjustments
by pixel in**this was predicted from some members here**.
to all congregations .
re: adjustments in organizational terminology and assembly arrangements .

If the GB keeps shaving days from conventions and weekly meetings I might even stay a witness! Heck, getting saved is easy now a days.
- Just set up a table with WT literature and don't need to talk with anyone.
- No need to read to much because the mags are only monthly and 16 pags long with big white margins.
- If you have a talk simply repeat what you read and everyone is happy.
- We do not know the answer to a question, just JWit on jw.org and presto! The answer before your very eyes in 600 languages

Thinking more about Genesis and the great solution for mankind, based in Genesis 3:15.
Let’s say you never met your father, years pass and you find out who he is, what his name is, and the reason he left you. How would you feel if the reason he left you was to prove to your mom, you and your brothers that you all needed him? You can tell where I am going with this...
He wanted to make it clear, that he would not tolerate your mother’s infidelity, she decided to be better off without him and thus you must understand how ungrateful your mother was. You now have to carry the burden of her mistake.
Not all hope has been lost, all you need to do is put your trust and love in one of his son’s. You don’t know him yet, but he was a great son and a nice man. Unfortunately he was brutally murdered for you. You ask yousrself, For me?? now before you start feeling sorry for him, a few good things for you to know are that his mother was a clean and loyal woman, unlike your mother who simply was the worst of the scum. He died loving your father to the very end; he praised your father all the time and demonstrated 100% loyalty to him. He is his only and true begotten son and if you love him with all your heart and soul, this will prove to your father how sorry you feel because of your mother’s disloyalty.
Stop and think for a moment, at this point of your encounter with your father.
Can you truly love this man?
Was his decision to leave you sound and loving?
Did you really learn your lesson because of your mother’s mistake?
What about this bizarre story about getting to know a murdered son from another woman?
Do you think it will justify your father’s decision?
Now that your senses and emotions have been shaken, your father lets you know that he resurrected your murdered brother. You do not have to feel sorry for his son, simply love him and serve him for the rest of your life because he was killed for you to get close to your father.
What psychological evaluation would you give your father after hearing all this?
The answer is obvious but in the realm of faith and spiritually we have fallen victims to the biggest delusion ever. That a man had to die for us because our parents wanted to know what was good and what was EVIL, although they did not have the capability to distinguish between the two.
Long live the memory of Farkel and many other brave men and women who have stood up against dogma and fables.
RIP Farkel

New congregation accounting system
by thedog1 ini'm sure i read a thread here about the new congregation accounting procedures.
i ask because i handle the accounts in our cong and in our part of the world the new accounting system has just arrived whereby local congs do not have their own account any longer, but all funds outside of basic monthly costs is forwarded to an account controlled by the org.
this is causing huge confusion in our cong as we have to work out how much we need to keep back for monthly costs and the new idea is that you send all your extra cash to the org and if you need it back you can ask for it but we don't know how easy or hard it would be to do that.

I am the Account Servant for my cong. and what ever extra we have we had to send it the WT. they currently hold a good amount from our local contributions and in case we need it we just go into the jw.org website and withdraw from the WT's account.
But the way you are explain it is that the local congos don't have any control over their donations, THAT IS INSANE!!

Talking with a nonbeliever...
by suavojr inin my search for the truth and the burning desire to become free from all forms of dogma and wishful thinking.
i have approached my first crossroads in my life, should i continue to believe in a god or not?.
currently i am leaning toward agnosticism, but all the suffering in the world, all the loss and pain in my own life makes it hard for me to simply let go of the idea and hope that at the end justice will prevail, that one day god can make it all good.. .

Seraphim23This fact won’t change no matter how far science progresses, for science is based on that which is understood without interpretation.
How about faith being based on what is a personal interpretation of writings from antiquity. Currently we cannot find any evidence for supporting such miracles or fulfilled prophecies. What benefits has religion given to our modern day society?
Increasingly however it requires interpretation which is an issue for science as it shows it has an innate limitation.
Science is the journey of the unknown and religion is the haughtiness of claiming to have no limitations in knowledge.
