i've heard about his bombastic, overly patronising, cartoon-ish delivery before, but i'd never actually seen it...until now.

More likely the WT spent months, maybe longer planning this, then when everything was assembled and ready to go they simply bolted the parts together, than claim they did it on only two months.

i mean the governing body are not showing much sense unless they want to appear totally unlike the run of the mill television preachers if that's the case they didn't have to go to the opposite extreme.
i try to understand where they are coming from but to chose someone who has the makings of an alien from the planet zod is completely baffling.. how is he giving out credibility to anyone remotely interested in the jws.
I was asking myself the same thing, where is the charisma, he mumbles, he is terrible at reading the teleprompter and has no business for show business. I forgot how JW's can take a fun activity and turn it into the lamest and most boring event ever. Imagine having JW.TV 24/7 in paradise earth?

the religion is so far and so different to the religion i grew up in that it has become something i feel no affiliation with anymore, no bond, no shared ideas or even sentimental views.

Well we now have the 11 easy steps to salvation!
so two big changes in the org were announced in the most recent agm.. local needs part is replaced by "how do you know the truth" where all members will tell their experience (oh what fun).
basic pioneer role 10 only hours a month required (see, jehovah lightens our load, therefore he loves only us)!.
it seems like they have really turned up the heat here.

It's the same with a different packaging when we talk about core doctrines but the atmosphere and the sense of urgency is completely different. The GB is trying hard to make the Borg look normal to outsiders, but once you are inside they treat you like shit.
