Did you take down notes at the meetings?
by JH inwere you the type to always jot down every little detail the brothers said from the podium?.
i found it amusing when especially sisters were always writting notes in their pads when the brother was giving a talk in the front.. i wonder if it was because they found the topic interesting, or because they wanted to look as if they were learning something.. i was all ears, but never took down notes.
that's odd, coming from a person who is "visual".

The Essential Rumi
by nilfun ina few months ago i purchased a collection of books called mystical classics of the world.
i am now reading the fourth in the series, the essential rumi (there are six books altogether: tao te ching, the bhagavad-gita, bardo thodol or the tibetian book of the dead, the essential rumi, the essential kabbalah, and the way of a pilgrim).
a man in prison is sent a prayer rug by his friend.

Stock Market / Is it gambling ??? A Question Jo-ho's are defensive on.
by run dont walk ini always remembered when they would talk about how it is wrong to buy lottery tickets, or home lotteries or shriner's tickets, because this was considered gambling.. but when it comes to the stock market, well that is a different story, they (the jo-ho's) say it is investing not gambling.. do you think it was right for a jw to invest in enron, worldcom.
qwest, bre-x (canada) etc.. they will say well we did not know it was a fraud, well are you not suppose to investigate before you invest, by buying into these companies are you not supporting their beliefs and ways.. and why would you invest in your future when armageddon is going to be anyday now.. jesus said "do not asssociate with workers of lawlessness.
" what would you call the stock market.. how much does the watchtower invest with their billions ???

Since you are buying a share of a company, investing in the stockmarket is no different from buying a business. The better investors tend to treat it that way. When done that way, it is no more gambling than buying a corner shop, a body shop or a fast food outlet (or a window cleaning business, for the benefit of any lurking Dubs).
I agree with that, but I wonder why the same reasoning they use to justify investing in business isn't used to justify investing in education.

And why would you invest in your future when Armageddon is going to be anyday now.
Good question! Whether or not it is gambling is a debatable but, if Armageddon is on the way, it doesn't matter. Tisk, tisk...one more discrepancy for the list...

At Last, The England Captain's Latest Hair Style Revealed:
by Englishman inhowever, gmtv had rather negative thoughts about it.
schoolchildren who copy david beckham's latest madcap hairstyle could end up bald and smelly, according to experts.. hairdressers have been inundated with requests from youngsters to mimic the braided look unveiled by england's football captain at the weekend.
but tv doctor hilary jones said anyone plaiting fine hair that severely could damage it - or even lose it permanently.

There may be some truth to that for some people but, I think in this case, those are just pompous critiques of something different. I like his hair. Riz is right on it. ((((( Hi Riz! )))))
