Friday District Convention notes: Control, control, control
by truthseeker inwell, one third of the convention is over, i had no choice but to attend due to my current situation.. the talks were worse than last year, and as usual if you have seen the program you will not find jesus in any of the talk titles - in fact, the only time jesus is mentioned is during a prayer or in connection with the ministry.. when you become aware of how sidelined jesus is, you can't help but notice that jehovah's witnesses are a modern version of the old testament religion - it's all about control, be attentive, obey the "faithful and discreet slave" etc etc, in stark contrast to belief and salvation through jesus.. only the talks with midly interesting material or that had ridiculous phrases used by the speaker are shown here.. friday.
9:50 be attentive to jehovah's promises of deliverance .
would you believe that this 20 minute talk was solely about being attentive to the program?

interesting...makes you wonder what else was misrepresented in the film.. coffee injured vet sues michael moore for $85 million.

My Friend died
by pratt1 ina few weeks ago i posted that a very good friend of mine from childhood was diagnoised with terminal colon cancer.. we were very close growing up in the dubdum, and we were in each others wedding party.
our kids reffered to each of us as uncle and his kids look towards my parents as their grandparents.. we drifted apart after i left the lie, but we managed to stay in touch infrequently even if only to keep updated on the kids or other family members.. fortunately for me, i was able to spent a lot of time with him while he was in the hospital and hospice, and we reconnected as friends almost like the old days.
on may 19th, although it was the day before my family vacation and i had a lot of running around to do, me and my wife went to see him.

i am in helsinki, finland and am very very very tired.
i am flying out again tomorrow to mexico city via london & atlanta, ga. i will be working in mexico city until the 27th of may.

Mario, thank you for posting. If you don't know it, I was one of the ones who called the Providence Police last year. I am so glad you're here to talk to - yell at me if you want - I know I did the right thing.
My mother has lost a child - it's been almost 40 years and she still gets up in the morning. Now her sister has lost a child. My mom says it's hard but you go on; if she hadn't gone on the four of us siblings would have never been born. I don't know the answers; all I have are my words and hope that the sun comes out tomorrow. It always does.

Great to hear from you. You know I grew up with a wonderful cousin. He was extremely talented, could play and sing and write his own music; played with Lyle Lovett and Randy Travis, and has his own following in the Southwest. We played tons together growing up; he was a few years younger than me. His favorite thing to do was to cut farts when girls were in the room. As he grew older, he got tired of all the crap and attempted suicide many times. Last February, he finally succeeded. We are all torn up in our family about his death. His mom is going thru therapy and feeling extremely guilty about everything. He left 2 kids who don't understand why Daddy is gone and we miss him desperately. Please choose life. I miss my cousin very much and grieve every day he's not here sending me nasty lewd e-mails and saying the most bawdy things.

I was told I had to join by my pioneer study partner. I had no idea it was optional, one of the few things that were in the Borg.

Anything regarding the transfusion issue. I mean that went on for weeks - twisting Scripture anyway they could to justify their actions.
I guess you could say they bled that issue to death!

The bomb scare - Convention
by KW13 inone of the worst things that a lot of people are scared of, is terrorism.
its an invisible enemy, to be honest i've stopped watching the news since it just got me down.. at a convention at the manchester evening news arena (used to be nynex arena) in manchester, there was a briefcase found.
no one claimed it and in the end it was thought to be a possible bomb.
