The Dixie Chicks
by Stan Conroy ini don't understand the logic of boycotting the dixie chicks because of the comments the singer made about being ashamed that bush is from texas.
it doesn't make sense to me.
keep in mind that i'm just a canadian, so maybe i'm just not tuned in to the american way of thinking.

They'll be on ABC this Thursday night with Diane Sawyer. I hear Natalie Maines even cries.

What Television Show Was Your All-Time Favorite?
by minimus ina couple of my favorites are taxi and now the soprano's.

Minimus - I know people laugh at that show. But it was my childhood, every Friday at 7:00 pm I watched that show faithfully. Loved the show, look at it now with fondness, although most of the reunion shows are really stupid and the new people playing the original characters are silly (except the cast of the Brady Bunch Movie - now that was a hilarious movie - imho).
I also loved Leave it to Beaver. When I am watching the reruns on TV Land, I sometimes just crack up out loud. I mean the first few years of Beaver, when he got to be a teenager it wasn't that funny anymore (plus Jerry Mathers was such a bad actor - lol).

Contact a local TV station in your area or an affiliate in the Las Vegas area. Perhaps they have a "fight for the little guy" segment on their newscast and might help you. It's worth a shot...

Music artists who have died, and those you missed the most.....
by ScoobySnax inok with the death of nina simone today at 70, i got to thinking about other great artists who have died.
many would say elvis, but he wouldn't feature if i had to pick just 3. mine would go something like this.
3. tammy wynette (stand by your man was a song that'll always remind me of my grandad who died 10 years ago, always makes me smile and remember him, and her collaboration with the klf circa 1992. justified and ancient.

Minnie Riperton - she died too young. I saw her grave while I was in LA a few years ago. I thought of that beautiful song "Lovin You."
Nina Simone - I have to say I didn't know who was until that really bad movie with Bridget Fonda a few years ago where she plays an assasin. That was her code name when she got a job to do: "Nina."
Karen Carpenter - as I have said in other threads, the best voice I have ever heard in my opinion.

Should "the other woman" be considered an acomplice before the fact?
by Thunder Rider inhere is a thougth.
if this peterson yutz is found guilty of murdering his wife and child, should the gal he was cheating with take some of the blame?
if it comes up that lacey was killed because she found out about the affair, doesn't that implicate the other woman?

This woman didn't know about Peterson's wife. She was distraught when she heard the news of Laci Peterson. If he lied about that, he could lie about anything. I think he killed Laci and is arrogant enough to think he'll get away with it. I feel for the "other woman." She was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
