  Quick Builds

  has any body any idea how good the workmanship is on quickbuilds?

  normally if you get a group of people who don't know about building you get chaos.

  i know a few years ago they were changed from 48hrs to 2weekend, something to do with not being able to lay the bricks fast enough, new legislation limiting how many courses could be done in a day.

  My father is involved in those quick builds, or "one day blunders" as we ex Jw's call them. I know the cities and towns were very strict on the building quality of the structure. I think since so many JW's do that kind of work in their regular jobs, I would think the quality was top notch.

  i havent had a vacation in almost 3 years.

  because of work i dont have the time and i certainly dont have the money.

  imagination is the only thing i have.

  So, who sleeps in early, and who sleeps in late?(fluff)

  i find that i can't sleep in late on the weekends.i'm up at 5:30 in the morning during the week and by the time the weekend comes around, if i can sleep till 7:30 i'm doing good.

  even if i stay up till midnight i still get up around 8:00.the only way i sleep in late is if i've been drinking all night or i'm sick.. so how does everyone else do with thier sleeping habits?

  I enjoy sleeping late on weekends but I have a husband who hates that, he calls it slothful. So if I really want to sleep in, I fake being sick so he won't bother me.

  Who watched the American Idol sing-off tonight on Fox?

  i thought reuben was superb on all 3 of his songs; clay sang the best only on his 3rd song.

  just because clay sang a great final few notes on his 3rd song, doesn't mean he deserves to be american idol.. my best friend and i hope reuben wins, but believe clay will get more votes.. earlier today i heard bleach-blond frenchie who got booted off for her topless photos sing on a morning show...she would have blown the competition out of the water!

  Yes Reborn - our own Kelly and Justin beach party movie. I think they are trying to capture the magic of those old Annette and Frankie movies. Well I have seen the trailer, this is a hastily put together movie with choreographed moves with beach towels and bikinis. They started production of this movie in January and were planning to release it in April. I don't know the reason for the extension, perhaps to retool it or to cash in on the American Idol wave. Most movies don't come out for months after they are finished.

  a letter read to us last thursday advised us to stay at recommended hotels only.

  we were told by the governing body that those who do not stay at recommend places are on a path to rebellion.

  Oh boy, I bet they have already done the annual hand slapping. I remember them telling us to only stay in certain hotels and not to book 5 or 6 hotels and then go looking to see which one was the nicest. This was never a problem for me because the convention was just in the next town. I especially like the admonishment not to show up in your night clothes and save seats with the hotel towels. Some of these things I remember are just too painful or laughable to think about.

  the following is an apology by one of the many international churches of christ (icoc) that have been guilty of control and manipulation, and who have repented before theire flock.

  will the watchtower ever be so humble??

  How do I tell my JW mother...

  we buried my grandmother this weekend.

  my jw mom took care of her for 2 years, and did a wonderful job.

  my grandmother had the best care from her daughter, which is the best kind.

  Cruzanheart,

  The funeral was long and it was stressful. However, there were enough touches from my aunt to make it better. She put together a bulletin board of photographs of my grandmother from little girl to present. There was a lot of love at that funeral, lots of crying and sobs. You had the JW funeral saying that only 144,000 will be in heaven and your soul dies at death and my non JW cousins thinking she's in heaven. In the end though, we know Grandma is not suffering anymore, and the good days she had became minimal. I was on bereavement for nearly a week and I am glad to be back at work. The first day back was tough, I cried most of the day. But as they say, time will make it better. And I have a lifetime of memories in my head and the love for her which is in my heart.
