John Lennon's 65th Birthday 9th October
by PaulJ inhe would have been 65 on monday.
just wanted to say i think he is a absolute legend and that his music gets better the more you listen to it.
i wonder what he would have achieved both politically and musically if he was still alive?

His daughter Debby appears with him also. She's very good and sounds a lot like Patsy Cline. She has inherited her father's talent. The best part was his guitar playing. Amazing to say the least.

Nipsey Russell has died
by pratt1 in.
bad news.... nipsey russell has died after a long battle with cancer.. for those of you who remember nipsey played a detective on the tv series car 54... where are you?
and made numerous appearances on tv shows and game shows in the 60's 70's and 80's.. he was known for his poetic gift and always had a joke for the cameras.. he will be sorely missed.

When I was about 14, we attended a taping of Match Game in Los Angeles. Nipsey Russell sat on the top row along with Brett Somers and Charles Nelson Reilly. On the bottom row was Fanny Flagg, Richard Dawson and Betty White. Between takes Nipsey had all these people in hysterics and the audience cracking up also. It was so much fun attending a taping and seeing how they really did things...

Who was your favorite "60's " folk singer?
by hubert ini go this idea from simons post on bob dylan's documentary.. my first choice would be..... joan baez.... she had the most beautiful voice, and with her excellent guitar picking, didn't need any backup music or singers.. next would be ...peter, paul and mary.
they could really harmonize magnificeintly.. what are your favorites?.

Absolutely! Absolutely! Absolutely!
by Elsewhere inis it just me or are more people using the word "absolutely" far more than needed?.
the other day i was at a store and the guy said "absolutely" several times in his pitch.
i've heard people use the word several times in recent television shows and this morning on the news i heard it three more times.. .

Whats the worst dish you ever served???
by Tez ini am a reasonable cook when i can be bothered (as paulj will hopefully confirm) but often resort to quick and easy methods, packet mixes, tins etc.. whereas my parner is a brilliant cook!!
leave him in the kitchen for a little while and he produces something from scratch that is delicious.
so today i decided to extend my culinary skills!
