My belief is that I will die.
So I am pretty sure that things will work out very neatly.
do you feel so strongly about a particular belief that you would make a stand for it through death?.
what belief is it?.
purps.

it's obvious right?
your convictions are supported by and dependant upon your reasoning and evidence.
what kind of person would choose a conviction first and then hunt around for evidence to support it, all the time ignoring any sound refutation and evidence which countered their cherished belief?.
Snowbird.
Sorry to be boring but reaching any conclusion with you through logical debate is like trying to catch a dream in a bottle.
Still it is fun trying.
i was browsing another post where wtwizard implied membership in another group, and was asked what it was.
that got me thinking...since coming out the society, has anyone embraced another organized religion or group, public or secret?
if so, what is it, and what made you join and continue membership?
When I left the JWs I thought I was free from rules and belonging to a structured group. Alas, as I became more 'worldly' I realized that I was still part of a structured group Called the UK.
I live in the south of England and belong to a different race to those who occupy the North. But we are still bound together by an ever increasing number of rules and regulations. Most of them are inflicted on us, against our will from Brussels in Europe. Political correctness has encroached on every part of our lives in Western society.
I sometimes think I had more freedom as a witness living in the seventies.

Re: One Reason Why I Worship the God of the Bible
Snow bird. On your above thread, when asked to explain the logic of your assertions, you stated,
‘I've never questioned God's existence. Logic only takes me so far; faith does the rest.’
This seems to confirm that conviction comes first and reason remains absent!
simons board rules "if you don't like the policies, you are free to leave" sounds a lot like the neocons battle cry of "my country love it or leave it"...the irony is palpablesimon's disdain of american political ideology is understandable.
i remember on my first of dozens of trips to europe, standing in line to board the ferry that crossed lake chiemsee to one of king ludwig's castles.
though we were talking quietly, it became apparent that we were a couple of americans mixed in with the german majority.
Hillary
You are an obviously bright man but handicapped by an egocentric need to triumph over everyone you debate with. Hidden in the insulting phrases that you construct to trounce your victims, are clues as to what drives you to such lengths.
I seldom respond to your threads or comments because your response is so predictable. It is a shame because you are among one of the most interesting posters on the forum.
You probably frighten away many of the people who would otherwise talk with you. I could spend all day playing word games with you but I have commented and you must make what you will of my observations, as will those who bother to read them.

Why you do not take delight in insulting everybody that you interact with online is for you to explain, not for me to guess. What is clear is that you do take delight in insulting a high number of those that you do interact with online and that is what has prompted my comments.
You are not sure that you can simplify it any further, when all you have done is complicated a simple matter.
If you think a nursery rhyme would help then fill your boots.

I am not impressed by discussion forum displays of 'support'.
Hillary - this is clear to anyone who reads your posts.
Just not taking such delight in insulting people would help to reassure the people who read your posts that you are as kind and supportive away from the board and in private as you claim to be.

This is not very 'cuddly' I know, but it is that path that leads to intellectual maturity
Hillary
There is intellectual maturity. Then there is maturity.
There is no better exercise for the heart than reaching down and lifting other people up.

Don't forget most of us Americans are actually just Europeans who vacated the mother ship-don't be so hard on us!
This sums it up. What is America except a melting pot for the world?

You were firmly trounced by myself. You were proved a liar, a hypocrite and adumbassbonehead, and I see that you have no yet learned your lesson…You repeatedly had your arse handed to you in debate.
Hillary
These are terms that you use many times with different people in debates that cover many subjects.
Everyone is at a different stage of development. Has it occurred to you to use, what you consider to be, your superior intellect to help people rather than trounce them.
I find your posts very entertaining but feel a certain empathy for those who are under your hammer. You know you have the ability to shine on this board without crushing those who try to join in the fun.
