i dated a jw lady for 3 months ., we never had sex, just made out , half naked , well everything except underwear .

she has been a jw for 40 years ., was married to a jw but he committed adultery 13 years ago so they divorced .

Im Still doing this , I must be a glutton for punishment .Ups and downs all the way . Ive got her real authentic side out much much more now. Have read both of Steven Hassans books, which , well are ok to understand a cult , as for helping getting cult members out , it seems his books are directed at young kids newly indoctrinated , he has no plan for long term cult members, and its only in his updated version of Combating cult control that he realizes that the JW is a cult Saying that, his 7 key plan is good and Dispelling phobias is going to take some doing . Ive seen an improvement but rate my chances at 5% of success .Am getting a lot of support and ideas from a great FB goup if anyone is interested , its more for you lot ( exJW ) but they accept me with open arms.

I wish someone could give me the instant answer , I feel physically , mentally and spiritually drained after these months of constant tug of war .

my wife and i finally finished steve hassan's latest book called " freedom of mind " so i wanted to devote one more thread to it in discussing how to recognize phobia's in witnesses or cult members and some methods hassan mentions to assist cult members.. on pg.

146 hassan states, " a cult phobia is a man-made mental illness that is an integral part of destructive influence.

a phobia is a persistent, irrational fear.

I thought it was time to talk.....

i'd like to relate an experience i had yesterday with a couple of jw's "working" with a cart yesterday.. been coming to this site for many years and these days i don't feel i've got much to contribute ,but i was out yesterday doing some voluntary work for a friend who has gone on an overseas trip .travelling around my local seaside area doing the job at hand ,i came across a couple of jw's sitting in a shelter overlooking the beach and had their trolley propped against a large public rubbish bin ,it was actually hard to see ithe trolley from most angles - whatever happened to lifting the basket to show the light stuff ...oh well .the large carpark was pretty empty except for us ,we've had pretty wet weather here lately ,bad storms and here they were set up for a days witnessing rugged up with wind and spitting rain ,i sort of thought " well that's dedication " ....that was my first thought then i pulled myself together and then thought "if i wanted to get some time in and not have to work at it too hard this maybe the place to go if i was a jw still".. well i finished my pickup and looked over at the two and realised i'd read other's experiences about approaching the cart people and wondered if talking to them would be of any benefit as i had witnessed this area for many years and my stance against the wts for hiding molestation of children is well known ,i thought, and they avoid me like the plague.. they were'nt familiar to me so i went up to them and introduced myself and quickly let them know who i was and what i am doing now as regards jw's.

they were a married couple middle aged been in for a long time and could relate to changes in the org very well to pre 1975 when i had first contact.

they pretty much suggested i was blinded to the truth ,when challenged on the royal commission into sex abuse they pointed to a case where they believed a victim they supposedly knew of in the jws was a liar ,so that's their case for the org -unbelievable.

Raw Footage of Australian Royal Commision

i see alot of youtube channels that have footage of the hearing, however i can not find the original footage?

can anyone point me in the direction of where the original footage is?

i am working on a project and do not want to strip footage from someones channel or steal someones work in terms of editing it or downloading it and uploading it with changes.

If I could a JW to watch this , would it sort of help her wake up ? I mean is it conclusive evidence that the direction to hide the evidence came from the GB ?

yes , I have to admit you are telling me 100% as it is , excuse my doubts earlier , but I guess I was / am desperate and frustrated , She is Dr Jeckel / Hyde in the female version 100% , she even admits this but cant explain it , well I dont want to tell her because , well everything I say is lies .

Its so sad to see a person like this , she has never known the real world and the devotion to the WT is uncomprehendible for me , I belive it 100% but wow its unreal.

She is suffering a lot , I met her the last two days , she is, I think being torn apart inside , there is a little part of her Human side showing , but that soon gets stamped on from her WT side which is much much powerful , but I can see its hurting her, she cries a lot , shes a nervous wreck , so I guess she will either break down or be comforted by her beliefs , I dont want her to go crazy which I think she is well on the way to .Strange for me was when we were walking and talkig she was being normal , all cuddly , then she stopped and said " I really love all my brothers and Sisters in the congregation " , that for me was a little scary .

So , yes . Its time to say good bye , it will be better for both of us , Im actually more worried about myself than her , she has her belief and Bro& sisters to fall back onto , I could never explain this predicament to anyone : (

Thanks nonjwspouse But again i am fully aware of what I am doing and the possible / likely consequences .

I get the feeling that here , Im not saying you , but some here maybe be here just to disrupt the positveness ( is that a word?) for whatever reason .
