i was in a relation with a jw girl for almost three years(im am not jw) and we are so inlove with each other until someone saw us from her congregation and she was disfellowed and that where the oddness happened.

her family and friends are not talking to her anymore, she wants me to stop seeing and talking to her anymore not until i became a baptized jw.

Pet Zahut, She never cheated on her hubby , it was the other way round.

She tried to get me into the cult , but I couldnt help laughing when I saw wome of the literature , guess Im too logical .

She is , like most JWs a very nice person and would nver ask me for any financial support, she is fact quite well of . I love hearing advice but scaremongering is something akin to what the WT does , so why bother ?

Crabby Ive known her over a year . And you really dont like anyone do you lol : )

Raven, yes that my intention , just play it by ear . But am slowly getting pissed off with it all . I see lots of improvement , I see more and more of the real her . Its weird sometimes we will be walking and talking and she will stop , look at me and say " I m not going to leave the JW ", she will repeat this once or twice . Weird , I dont mind telling you , that freaks me out .

When I saw their picture of " paradise " I did not feel dizzy or tired , I just thought " oh my god , this is like something to show a 8 year old kid " and this was my first encounter with JW literature and my relationship with this organization ended after 3 meetings and 2 bible studies , which I did purely out of research purposes , to understand and see first hand how they operate , I could nt keep a straight face to tell you the truth , it was so childish and directed at kids , I am 48 .

Your example of the Swat team is very good , and to approach a JW indoctrined for 41 years with the SWAT approach does indeed make them turn to the cult for comfort . Now in your example, the police should have sent a loving trained negotiator to ease her away from her kidnapper . Apply this same approach to my ex i.e. show her love and that there is a life outside the WT , a life of freedom and love then she will start to think . If do the SWAT approach , going in heavy handed then she will defend herself as trained per mind controlled indoctrination.}

So , your next remark that " she was dumb enough to choose this " Well ,actually no , she was bought in as a small child, her parents were the dumb ones, she never choose this, or were they dumb ? They were new to this country and had little friends back in 1974. A JW recruiting campaign very near to the 1975 Armageddon did a good sells job on them , they spoke their language and offered them a congregation of their nationality , coupled with the bullshit of the near approaching Armageddon was a perfect recipe to fall into their trap , People who submit to cults are rarely " dumb " or "choose " to become involved ..

I will not become a " Devil worshiper " , Ive made the clear , and I am not trying to save the world ,just 3 people . Although I would like nothing more than saving the whole world : )

Yes , but yo see , she may pray for us all to die ( Armageddon ) but its the mind control of the WT , its not her own self doing this, ( they ) believe they are doing the right thing , What the JWs do is not their own evilness , they are conned into thinking it is the right thing by the WT , everyone knows this .

Its not a case of " bringing her back " as in from the dead, its a case of breaking through the indoctrination . Its not a supernatural or spiritual phenomena , its a psychological phenomena ., nothing to be scared of, not demons devils etc , just good old mind control : )

The difference being, they maybe devil worshipers , or at least antichrist worshipers , but , they dont know it , They have been conned into this thinking they are worshiping the real God .

Im Still doing this , I must be a glutton for punishment .Ups and downs all the way . Ive got her real authentic side out much much more now. Have read both of Steven Hassans books, which , well are ok to understand a cult , as for helping getting cult members out , it seems his books are directed at young kids newly indoctrinated , he has no plan for long term cult members, and its only in his updated version of Combating cult control that he realizes that the JW is a cult Saying that, his 7 key plan is good and Dispelling phobias is going to take some doing . Ive seen an improvement but rate my chances at 5% of success .Am getting a lot of support and ideas from a great FB goup if anyone is interested , its more for you lot ( exJW ) but they accept me with open arms.

I wish someone could give me the instant answer , I feel physically , mentally and spiritually drained after these months of constant tug of war .

my wife and i finally finished steve hassan's latest book called " freedom of mind " so i wanted to devote one more thread to it in discussing how to recognize phobia's in witnesses or cult members and some methods hassan mentions to assist cult members.. on pg.

146 hassan states, " a cult phobia is a man-made mental illness that is an integral part of destructive influence.

a phobia is a persistent, irrational fear.

I thought it was time to talk.....

i'd like to relate an experience i had yesterday with a couple of jw's "working" with a cart yesterday.. been coming to this site for many years and these days i don't feel i've got much to contribute ,but i was out yesterday doing some voluntary work for a friend who has gone on an overseas trip .travelling around my local seaside area doing the job at hand ,i came across a couple of jw's sitting in a shelter overlooking the beach and had their trolley propped against a large public rubbish bin ,it was actually hard to see ithe trolley from most angles - whatever happened to lifting the basket to show the light stuff ...oh well .the large carpark was pretty empty except for us ,we've had pretty wet weather here lately ,bad storms and here they were set up for a days witnessing rugged up with wind and spitting rain ,i sort of thought " well that's dedication " ....that was my first thought then i pulled myself together and then thought "if i wanted to get some time in and not have to work at it too hard this maybe the place to go if i was a jw still".. well i finished my pickup and looked over at the two and realised i'd read other's experiences about approaching the cart people and wondered if talking to them would be of any benefit as i had witnessed this area for many years and my stance against the wts for hiding molestation of children is well known ,i thought, and they avoid me like the plague.. they were'nt familiar to me so i went up to them and introduced myself and quickly let them know who i was and what i am doing now as regards jw's.

they were a married couple middle aged been in for a long time and could relate to changes in the org very well to pre 1975 when i had first contact.

they pretty much suggested i was blinded to the truth ,when challenged on the royal commission into sex abuse they pointed to a case where they believed a victim they supposedly knew of in the jws was a liar ,so that's their case for the org -unbelievable.
