we like to think we are logical and have good reasons for for our beliefs.

no more so than when it comes to our reasons for rejecting the truth claims of jws.

we reject their version of history, such as the date of the fall of jerusalem, because it doesn't agree with the historical evidence.

It seems we have forgotten about how they got entrapped , through mind control , false friendliness and withhold of certain facts . Im sure they dont mention on the door that the potential Jw must forfeit lot of fun things in life, then insert fun with shun

Anyone who joins an org for themselves and has whacky beliefs, thats fine but the kids born in to the WT dont have the moral , mental option to choose .

Sorry , but I feel sorry for them , i dont respect them or their views , because its not their free views

what's the greatest advantage in becoming a roman catholic after leaving the jehovah's witnesses some 17 years ago?

why, it's the way it totally irritates people and really pushes their buttons...that is, if you are one of the unfortunate jehovah's witnesses who happens across my door during field service.

i have developed several techniques to make it very frustrating to the unwary witness who hopes to make headway at my house.

I tried to get her to read Combating cult mind control , after I had read it but she refused .

Then one day , she was here and we had a row and I threw it out of my apartment window after her in the car park , shouting like a mad man " fucking read that ! " lol The neighbors look surprised to say the least : ))

She took the book home and read the first pages, got scared , wrapped it up in gift paper and hid it under her bed, strange behavior ?

I read both his books within a week , the first time and for me, as a total newbie to cult influence , they were invaluable . Before i read the books I was doing the heavy handed approach and just pushing the Jw away further into the Wts clutches .

He taught me to adopt the love approach and make her ( the Jw ) use parts of her brain / mind that she doesn't usually use . Its amazing, the difference in her . Im a long long way off from getting her out, if that will one day happen I doubt very much , but she now knows so many things and believes them too about the Wt , which was unthinkable a few months ago . I too would quite willingly pay thousands, if there was a guarantee at the end , but alas there is none , and she also says " I have a headache " when it gets too much : )

I declined, well because I just dont have the money and It was not obviously a case of 1 session = end of services .

I can understand both points of views , yes nothing is for free and he must earn a living .

But If he was dedicated , as he says , to helping victims ( I was not a victim but trying to help someone) then he could easy half his fee. The sales dept of FOM seemed to be to very pushy , during the first phone call she kept asking me for my credit card details , but maybe that is the normal business practise in the States , Im in Europe .

All this said and done , I believe he is genuine and has a wealth of knowledge in this field . What is totally different and maybe almost unique to the JWs is the fact that so many are long term / born in members . His books are 90% directed at people who have just been sucked in to a cult .

Description of Services:

I use an educational approach to consulting and teach techniques that encourage changes in thinking, feelings and

behavior. You will need to communicate with me about any questions or concerns you might have. Please don't

hesitate to give me feedback of any kind that may help us get better results for you.

Confidentiality:

I will always respect your confidentiality up to the limits established by the law. If I am ordered by a court to breach

your privilege and confidentiality, I will need to abide by that order. Fortunately, that has never happened but I need

to put this in writing. If you would like to discuss this issue further, prior to engaging my services, please do so.

Professional Fees:

My consulting fee is $400 per 60 minute hour. Longer or shorter sessions are pro-rated from this basic fee. This is

also the fee for other professional services which you may desire such as: report writing, contact with other service

providers, attendance at meetings or consultations, preparation of records or summaries, reading background

materials, reading and writing responses to emails (other than very short ones) and telephone conversations,

including those with third parties you authorize me to speak to. Currently, I do not wish to be an expert witness. If

you become involved in litigation that requires my participation, you will be billed for the time I spend in

preparation of and/or attendance at the court, even if I am compelled to testify by another party.

You will be billed directly for all professional services and you will be responsible for paying for all services at the

time of service.

I will discuss specific recommendations for your case at the time of the initial consultation. I offer discounted

service packages for ex-member recovery and for supporting families and friends to help individuals break free of

undue influence. The fee for the initial consultation can be applied toward the cost of a service package.

Fees for Sessions at My Office or by Phone or Video Conference:

 Meetings that take place in my office are $400 per hour.

 Discounted packages are available for full day and multi-day engagements.

Fees for Sessions at Other Locations:

 Sessions at locations other than our office are always charged at a full day rate of $4,000 per day.

 Discounted packages are available for full day and multi-day engagements.

Travel:

Travel can take a great deal of my productive time, so I am forced to bill for time spent traveling. I discount it to a

rate of $100 per hour on weekdays, maximum of $1,000 per 24-hour period. Time spent traveling on weekends or

holidays is at a rate of $200 per hour, maximum $2,000 per 24-hour period. Discounted service packages include up

to four hours of round-trip travel time.

I contacted his office a few months ago . I sent in my predicament using the attached forms and got a reply saying Steve "had read my story" and would be happy to help me . 400$ an hour for a Skype call . They sent me the whole list of fees for meetings etc. If anyone wants ill post it here .

I cant believe he is a scammer , ok , high costs but he really is or appears to be a good man. Saying that, on his Facebook , he is always pushing his products especially his two books . But I guess hes got to make a living too.

He mentioned once that a Cult education website had been bought out by Scientology , which in turn kept the original name, maybe this is the website ? It sounds familiar and in a part of his book he mentions that they do things to damage his reputation.

He also says intervention has not been practiced since the mid eighties or so , and is now illegal , its like kidnapping or something .

My opinion, he is genuine , has to earn a living and maybe this website is not 100 genuine .

Well Ive just looked at the website, and it looks quite good actually , so maybe this is not the oneS cientology bought out .

'Worldly' man looking for a little more understanding...

saw similar title in a google search so thought i'd read more and now simply have to share my experience if anything to hear that i'm not insane and it is that simple.. met and fell madly in love with a witness, and her with me.

what began as love at first sight turned into a 6 year relatiomship which simply ended very bluntly.

there were many painful twists and turns along the way, first from her inability to leave her husband, then my mistake in finding someone else as i simply couldn't take the pain of her coming and going with such simplicity, but in the end she got a divorce and suffered many consequences within 'the truth', and i sorted my issues which were many and admittedly dug with my own hands and stupidity in trying to protect a young girl who had done no wrong in this long affair.. eventually we found ourself on what i believed to be the home straight.

Im in the same position as you were when you started the post . Its horrible and uncomprendable , the power of the cult is deep rooted , just cant believe it
