  as of 6:02 pm last night i received a facsimile from paul hoeffel at the un on the wts.. he gave me 3 of the 4 things i requested in two paragraphs.. i have sent a scanned version to steve bates and someone else.. i sent it to kent and randy.

  and kent and randy have posted the official united nations letter on their web sites.. here is the letter - put your cursor on the image and then right click on your mouse and hit "save image" to your computer.. .

  after you look at kent's web site and you people still think this it is a fake letter, phone paul hoeffel yourself at (212) 963-8070.. hawk

  Thanks for the info. I think the case is watertight, although, sadly, most JWs will discount whatever facts are available.

  What might be nice would be a site devoted to this single topic as was apparently done at www.jwbloodreview.org

How can they sincerely be shocked, when the so-called “Christian” nations that they so patriotically support now stand prepared to fight the final war with the flaming napalm bombs dropped from airplanes, with liquid fire belched forth from guns, with corrosive chemical gases, with explosives that will blast away a person’s face so that the surviving victim needs to wear a mask and be fed intravenously, with nuclear bombs of such enormous power as to make tens of thousands of human creatures disappear into thin air? How can the supporters of such wartime viciousness find fault with Jehovah of armies? Let them rather be shocked, horrified, at themselves!

In addition, they are expected to keep the DPI/NGO Section abreast of their activities by regularly providing samples of their information materials relating to the work of the UN. These are also made available for perusal at the DPI/NGO Resource Centre.

  I agree. The ultimate authoritative sources are the Resolutions and the fact that the rules were in place in 1968 for goodness sake demolishes any claims that the rules somehow changed.

  Also, NGO's are requited to submit examples of literature that supports UN goals. This is available for public inspection. If wanna i sgoing to visit, it would be highly informative to see what the WTS has submitted. If copies oculd be obtained....

  Help, Changes in criterion regarding membership

  has anyone found out what changes have been made in the criteria regarding membership as a "dpi/ngo" since 1991. i brought up the un issue in a jw chat group.

  they apparently got the disassociation letter a couple days after it came out.

  the following is the latest attempt to justify the issue.

  Rules have been essentially the same since 1968;Not only that, NGOs have to submit examples of their literature that shows they are playing their part;

  On the NGO page it states:

  "In addition, they [NGOs] are expected to keep the DPI/NGO Section abreast of their activities by regularly providing samples of their information materials relating to the work of the UN. These are also made available for perusal at the DPI/NGO Resource Centre."

  Thus, the WTS has to have supplied literature in support of its continued status.

  what do you consider the worst venues holding conventions?.

  indoor?, outdoor?.

  my votes go to: #1- the hollywood (broward county)florida "sportatorium" why?

  That's nothing, when we went to assemblies, when we got home after 25 hours of grueling sessions every day, our elders would chop us up into 4 pieces with a rusty breadknife...then mail us out in plastic bags to the 4 corners of the Earth and we had to walk back in time to be at the Volunteers Dept. 3 hours before they posted us out.

  Actually, there was nothing worse than the old Bolton Wanderers Stadium in the UK. On a cold miserable Saturday. A bleak 3/4 mile trek through areas consisting of almost derelict, but lived in, terraced houses followed by the acsencion to the stadium. Peeled wood benches for seats, bitingly cold winds whipping through the stadium, dust and dirt in the air, and the talks to boot. We used to count the minutes from thursday morning. The worst was that hellish call "To the field" which meant 4 hours of going from peeled door to peeled door, in fera of our lives, with nobody home - since they all, man, woman and child were in the clink. Why we feared for our lives I'll never know. Never hardly met a soul.

  You think you had it hard inthe US....nothing was worse than the old Bolton stadium. Now they have a nice new place just off the railway line. The only thing that would come close would be the Cow Palace if it were open air and had no seats.
