this is the email address to which everyone here should send at least one email regarding the wts's "associative status" with undpi.. the wts's ngo subject of interest is "human rights".. we should document to undpi that the only "human rights" that the wts is interested in is their right to enslave other humans.. your email doesn't necessarily have to be a "research paper" on disfellowshipping, shunning, shielding of child molestors, etc.
some of the most effective emails will be those relating the intimate personal experiences of those harmed by the wts's own human rights violations.

We'd have to come up with a cogent yet documented statement together with a clear statement of what we want. Obviously, anonymity might be an issue for some, but if there were enough of us then retailiation by the WTBTS would be difficult. Might even be useful to attract some publicity too.

a day or so prior to gc.com shutting down, one of their members posted a warning that they had received an "apostate email", entitled "united nations".
the poster said that he had deleted it without reading it, (i guess they have esp over there) and warned others to do the same.
i believe that the poster also said that all gc members probably got such because they didn't use that particular address except for gc stuff.. i haven't seen a similar post on gc.net or wol thus far.. can i assume that someone here has already emailed everyone at gc and wol?

Don't give up. Three years ago I felt the same. Now my sister has essentially quit because the UN thing was the straw that broke the camel's back and my Mom is firing off letters to the WTS almost weekly demanding answers. It's a long road, but she is your Mom; calling you 4 times in the last week means that you have made an impact. Don't give up; be nice, logical, calm and unfrustrated and you will win out. Look at it this way "without a word you will win her over." You have nothing to lose and all to gain. Once I realized that my own impatience was the thing that bothered and hindered me it was easy thereafter. Except for the impatience!!!

Words cannot express the sadness. The WTS turns a blind eye to those who give lip service and have no heart. Those who actually try to live by the code suffer, and in your case and your daughters's case suffer terribly or absolutely. You are in no way to blame, the organization persecutes those who take its tachings too seriously.

Only you can answer that; But to say that you are "letting your personal hurts get in the way ..." is very sad and being too hard on yourself. What else is there beyond personal hurt, hurting for losing a daughter is not "mising something in the analysis," it is being human and must be absolutely devastating. Life is too precious to be subject to the ever canging whims of Brooklyn.
The jw religion is not only wrong, and demonstrably wrong, it is indefensible becauseof the hurt and genuine grief that it causes without reason. Here is not the place to go into specifics because you both are hurting so much, but the first place to start, if I can suggest is this; don't feel guilty for believing, but act. Do something. Even if you eventualy decide that your beliefs were wrong, you have acted out of integrity which is the basis of humanity. The WTS acts out of expediency. Being misled is not a sin. Nothing can bring your daughter back to Earth, but, you both acted out of honesty. Pursue the truth, leaving no stone unturned in pursuit of it.
The WTS is based on a double life; they DF people for questioning them but feel free to act contrary to their own standards. They reward hypocrites who tow the line but discard tose who value truth

as it turned out they wheedled the answer out of him by his fiancee, but the point is that they had a wager.
since the underlying assumption of the apostasy is that we are not living in the last days of this system of things, and that this world is not facing anything remotely like the biblical apocalypse, at least not any time soon, in the spirit of such antagonism, i would like to propose a similar wager.

In a sense the difference is the following; it is essentially impossible for an individual to really determine the fundamentals of a company or commodity. However, the big investment houses can do that; here I don't mean what analysts say but what institutions and insiders do, i.e., what they buy and sell. What they do is often very different from what they say. That's why the public is always buying tops and selling bottoms. Technical analysis is an approach that tries to figure out what the big boys are doing by looking at price charts. Very often prices will go in the exact opposite direction to what fundamental analysis would suggest since there is, perhaps, some information only known to a few. Or the markets are being manipulated somewhat.
Value investers got kileld during the late 90s but more recently have done well. The idea of TA is to try to do well all the time; of course you can get nailed too.

To clarify:
The following statement found at

"In 1968, the Economic and Social Council, by Resolution 1297 (XLIV) of 27 May, called on DPI to associate NGOs, bearing in mind the letter and spirit of its Resolution 1296 (XLIV) of 23 May 1968, which stated that an NGO "...shall undertake to support the work of the United Nations and to promote knowledge of its principles and activities, in accordance with its own aims and purposes and the nature and scope of its competence and activities".
clearly suggests that the 1968 ESOC resolution would apply to NGO's associated through the DPI. Thus the two catagories are clearly linked.
