true story from a girl at work about her sister.
honest to god.. her sister was in a frantic rush one day trying to get out of the office to get to her yearly gynecologist exam on time.
she rushed home, didnt have time to take a shower so she just took a sink bath and sprayed on some fds spray (for all males out there, that is feminine deoderant spray).

Her sister was in a frantic rush one day trying to get out of the office to get to her yearly gynecologist exam on time. She rushed home, didn’t have time to take a shower so she just took a sink bath and sprayed on some FDS spray (for all males out there, that is feminine deoderant spray).
She rushes to the gyn’s office. In the middle of her examination, lying flat on her back in that oh-so -familiar position, the dr. looks up and says to her “My, my. Aren’t we special!” She had no idea why he said this and didn’t ask (normally, one does not want to look at the dr’s baby blues in this situation).
Exam done, she got in her car and on the way home she got to thinking about it. She started to get furious at his nervy and unprofessional comment. I mean she’s pissed and ready to file a complaint first thing tomorrow morning.
She gets home, gets undressed and goes to the bathroom. OMG… Instead of FDS spray, she had accidently grabbed her daughter’s gold glitter hairspray! {{{{{}}}}}}
SHE HAS NEVER BEEN BACK TO HIM SINCE.

...so have people within the company 'phoning up and bitching when they have problems.
With all due respect, if my computer doesn't work, my work comes to a standstill; my boss is not happy. I still have my deadlines to meet, and you can bet I'm going to come looking for ya. Service please. I wasn't the one who installed my computer; they did. I didn't ask for a hand-me-down computer. Don't like the complaints? Tuff. I.T. pressured and overworked? Tuff. I'm not exactly filing my fingernails and, trust me, I have to handle my share of crap all day, too. I have long since lost my sense of humor over this. If I could have fixed it myself, I would have, and saved myself a hell of a lot of aggravation.
By the way, they managed to fix it today by reinstalling Microsoft 2000 and Office Suite 2002. DAH.....
Fod: Appreciated your first link. Needed it. Thanks. Your second link...I think you know what I think.
Thank you to all of those who took the time to repsond to this thread. I appreciate it.
I'm going to go have myself a glass of wine now and go to bed.

well, it's sunday morning and i'm sitting here posting on this board when i hear 2 car doors slam.
i peek out the window and see 2 elders walking up to the door.
since i'm still in my jammies, i told my husband to go get the door while i snuck into the bedroom.
You've got to be kidding. I had a hard time getting them when I was ATTENDING. I usually only made 1 or 2 Theo Min Schools/Svc Mtgs a month but somehow the brother just couldn't manage to get one to me. I usually ended up attending the meeting without the KM and didn't know what the heck was going on. That shows you how much of that lovin' attention I got. And they waltz right up to your doorstep with a KM? That's very, very strange. Not to spread paranoia but they may have an ulterior motive.

Thanks Sieg. When Windows 2002 didn't work, they reloaded with 98 Second Ed. That's just great. What a fun time I'm going to have tomorrow (that is if I ever get to bed).

Toddy: I almost did. This IS my new computer. Management get the new stuff. Staffers get the hand-me-downs. Aren't I lucky.
Fod: I'm not impressed with our IT staff either but it's all I have. The IS Manager hates Microsoft also. We're stuck with it. We have problems because they keep upgrading us all the time. I keep asking why? What's wrong with this version? Just when you're finally getting productive and in the swing of things with the new version, they come around and upgrade either the operating system or the office suite software again. Now this isn't working, that isn't working, ya-dah-ya-dah-ya-dah.
I remember when our HR Policy manuals were in WordPerfect and I was trying to meet a deadline for distribution. The I.S. Dept. came around and announced they are taking WordPerfect off our computers and installing WORD. No problem they said. Documents will convert okay. Well, our manual had all kinds of formatted text. Do I need to tell you what they looked liked when the conversion was finished? Have you ever seen, re-e-e-e-ally seen, a Tasmanian devil? That closely resembled what I looked like that day!

my teenage son approached my husband and me yesterday to inform us that he wants to get baptized at the summer convention.
ugh!.
he hasn't shown an interest in witness things for several months until a cousin from up north came to visit and took him out in service all day.
TweetieBird: Peer pressure is stronger than normal as they are very brainwashed. Further.....You know your son the best. You at least have the advantage of knowing what he is getting into. Just think if you were a parent with no exposure to the WTS. OMG. If you are Christian, pray that whatever he chooses to do is according to His will and not yours or your son's. Then don't fret. Trust God to handle the situation. If it's not God's will, your son's efforts will be derailed causing the grief that we know the WTS is capable of dishing out. Just be there for him if it comes to that. If this direction is God's will, then who are we to argue. Just support him in whatever he decides to do. I'm certainly not endorsing the WTS because I can't stand them but you'll lose the tug of war once the love-bombing starts. Just pray and reason with him, repeat, repeat, repeat.

ive got a problem with my boss that is driving me nuts.
[>:(] we differ drastically in our approach to problem solving and it is affecting my everyday life on my job.
it's to the point where there are times when i wish we could part company.
Brodark: Don't know if we have PageMaker. I'll ask. Bodily Harm: I feel like it sometimes. I vent here instead.
Jeremy: I sure did. With your wife and daughter (and her teddy)? Adorable. Ya'll look like a very happy, happy family. I envy you. Thanks so much for the pic.

...Is it possible for you to troubleshoot the problem on your ‘own time’, using subterfuge if necessary, in the effort to compile a record of ‘the fix’?Ever heard of the expression "She's like a puppy with a root" when researching a problem? That's how my best friend always described me. Writing policies and procedures and identifying administrative problems are my forte. Been doing it for 37 years. There's a lot more background to this situation. I'll send you an E-mail if your E-mail is open.
