I drove by a large public library today and saw not one but two literature carts (one on each side of the entrance) no more than 5-8 feet from the door. I would have a valid complaint if I called the city right?

A must to be MS?
by crazyhorse inso is it a must and an absolute requirement to be a ministerial servant in the org?.
i was told that if i refuse an appointment as an ms then it means i'm opposing "jehovah's call to service".

I was an MS for years. I was told twice in three years that I had been recommended to be an elder, and was asked if there was anything that would disqualify me. I told them that I couldn't read hearts and would be impossible for me to be part of JC and decide if someone had repented or not. That was a total can of worms, even the CO got involved. Eventually that stopped once I quit the meetings cold turkey and stopped answering elder calls.

Did anyone ever rent a home or apartment from a "brother"?
by keyser soze inwhat was the experience like?
i lived with my brother and then sister-in-law in an apartment building owned by a brother and his wife.. besides the fact that they would constantly enter the place while we were out, without any kind of advance notification, they would procrastinate whenever there was maintenance work that needed to be done.
sometimes it would take months before they would get to it.

I rented an apartment from a "brother." He owned 4 units and lived next door. It was horrible, he would go through my recycling and count the number of beer cans and tell me I should talk to the elders because I might have a "drinking problem."

How do JWs Not see how barbaric YHWH is? Its what started my awakening.
by BU2B inif one reads genesis from the first chapter through the end with an open mind, it is clear that not only is it not true, but that god is potrayed as a cruel, petty, childish micromanaging tyrant.
if one continues reading the ot this is just further solidified.
how do jws not see the obvious?

This was part of my awakening too. A brother and I were talking and the topic of abortion came up. I asked if he thought abortion was against christian values, he said of course! Then I brought up David's unborn child. Wasn't he killed because he would have been a "black eye" for king David's reign? Don't many unwanted children get aborted today for the same reason??? So the parents to avoid embarssment or shame?!:(

We Pray For The Governing Body...

funny you should mention this...... I was visiting my aunt in a Seattle last summer and I asked if I could use her computer, she said yes. I walk in and on the mirror of her dresser she has a picture of the "8 popes" I asked her about it and she said its good to pray for them. I asked her aunt Melissa what's the difference between that and people who have a cross or a saint in her home. she laughed and said: oh el_guapo you know the difference!!!!
It's scary how much they worship these 8 men

Elder and CO just dropped by....
by El_Guapo ini haven't been to a meeting in over a year, and as you know as soon as you stop attending meetings/fieldservice the "conditional" love becomes more apperant.
the coordinating elder starts off by saying how much he loves and misses me, etc.
i ask him, when was the last time you called or texted me?

awesome comments, guys! Love hearing your stories. The sad reality is that things are rapidly changing in the Borg. It's becoming more and more love-less. We only had one elder who was in his lates 60's that I can truly say cared for the "friends" I would go on sheperding calls with him and he would ask regular questions to get to know the friends more then would tell them how much Jah appreciated them and would ask if they have his cell #. in case they needed anything. One of the sisters said that when her baby was a new born (about 20 yrs ago) we had a a really bad storm and bring a single mom it was tough, she called this bro at 3 am and told him and his wife that she needed diapers and ear infection medication for the baby ASAP.
His wife knew the general manager of the pharmacy , they went over to his house and asked if they could make some emergency purchases at the store. All 3 drove down bro and sister Garcia bought the necessary items. The sister said that both he and his wife stayed made breakfast later that morning and made sure she and her baby were OK. They never went around gloating, it was the first time I heard this story. The bro. died about 2 years ago of leukemia and his wife passed of a heartattack about 2 months later. REALLY sad. Now EVERYONE is a "company man" no heartfelt emotion just zombie attitudes.
