Is there any scriptures that I can use, the next time my husband and I discuss this. What scrip might he use to prove jah has changed his mind on things? and how do i refute that?

Is "Old Light" really called independent thinking?

i do realize the superiors use passages (aka word magic) to explain such a big change.

I too am less judgemental with "worldly" people ... they really don't care what relidion your are. As long as you are nice, and trustworthy.

I just want to THANK everyone with thier thoughts! I can't get on my home computer, so had to wait till I got to work...I hope that one day I can comment using Iphone. Nobody knows what I'm doing when I'm sitting on the couch!!!LOL!! When my daughter was reinstated, she knew from her siblings that I dont go to meetings. Before she was DF'ed she knew how distraught I was over the Lords of the Cong. She said" Mom, get stronger while I'm out"... Ummmm..... Thats a BIG NO! ( I didn't tell her that) One I became a witness thinking this was right...scared, alone Preg,,,and no family around...I STAYED for family sake....I WASTED over 20 yrs. and I'm not living for anyone but me...If I'm not happy....well, it'll be heck for everyone. I always HATED service! I remember one time after partying all night...got home 4am...and went out in service at 9am....still intoxicated...haha! I liked my friends...and we did do girl nites out ALOT...Elders wives....BAD!!!
anyway when she came over, after being in the good graces of the elders, she asked what was going on...I didn't say too much...but it was enough for her to limit association, and to tell me she only wants too be around positve people (brainwashed people). she meets with dad on a reg. basis...and her siblings. So all I want to get straight is where we stand without blowing punches. Right now while at work on youtube, I am listening to "The Christian Quest" its like 23 chapters...amazing info and noting things. AND I did get the new book of Steve Hassan "FREEDOM OF MIND" and reading it late at nite and underlining and I will make notes Just in case.... But not to cause WW3. I will take points from all of you!!!AHHHH I just love the fact that I am FREE!!! sorta!! LOL!

I stopped going to meetings over a year ago! YAY...Me!! It was the body of Elders that led me to my disgust with the ORG. The help with youtube and this site has OMG,,, opened my eyes. I came in due to getting married to a Born in. over 2 decades of marriage and 3 children, now all in there 20's. and 4 grand kids. @ are in and the youngest is not (never got baptized) The Elders never say anything to him when he would go to memorial (unloving holier than thou jerks ). Oldest one got D'fed, now back...middle one is on my side in some thoughts and on his dads side in other areas. ( Dad is still VERY active). Thankfully there was a recent post about holding in our anger and rage,, due to losing the family relationship/ or divorce.. A little late in my reading it but I think I got things back on track so I can continue my fade with out being DF'ed. ( biting tongue, I now have half a tongue! :)) I want to let everyone know what liars this org is... kinda like the feeling when you learned the "truth" you talked to all your "worldy" friends and family....well thats me reverting!.
The Daughter who was DF'ed has totally shunned me after getting back, due to her husbands side of the family... telling her to watch her association. She got DF'ed for smoking pot....due to sleep issues. (smoking BAD) now she eats pot cookies...LOL just kidding!!! (i eat them) :~p
She will text once in awhile. I told my spouse , this is wrong...I have not done anything to be shunned. I just dont go to meetings, or out in service, or kiss Elders A$$!! But she texted me last week and wants to "VISIT" with me. My dilema is,.... what do I say to her when she wants to know why I dont want to go to meeting or do anything with the "truth" Other than , her knowing how I feel about the Elders... what points, without me looking like an apostate can i bring out to her???

everyone please think about it, and beware of any initiative designed to solve "a community problem".
becasue russel also started his own cult on a similar premise like this , claiming to have all the answers to issues whose solutions seems obscured to the majority in his days, and here we are today, constantly bashing our fingers on the keyboard in a bid to finding comfort from the mess he had put all of us into.

AAWA` has a GROUP of people that believe different things, religious wise. You have athiest, agnostics, christian,,,,etc. to many different views to be considered another cult.

Clapping at the meetings and assembly

growing up in the wt culture i learned the proper protocol for clapping.
before the assembly speaker gave his talk, but not after.

I'm NEW!!!! but had to reply. One of our "ELDERS" came to our cong and encouraged us to clap for demos on placing the mags. after 7 years , he now changes it and tell us we can't. RULES. RULES. RULE!
