Simon.
There seems to be a number of new posters starting up conversations here lately that are vaguely sympathetic to the 'good aspects' of the WT Org.
I'm assuming this is a pattern on JWN during convention time??
well, i have been studying jws religion ,my cousin is a jw and i have visited him a lot of times.i have watched his way of living and things like that.i have been at the district convention last week.i read so many things from both sides.i came to the conclusion that if someone believes god exists then it is so easy and he should be a jehovah's witness.sadly its true and that is why so many people are and every year they baptised even more.. stories about jws reducing?wrong.. facing problems?
false.. everybody in the convention had an ipad ,iphones etc with the bible in it.

iCeltic - The Court froze all assets of the WTBTS after Candace Conti was awarded the 17 million dollar judgement. This way the corporations could not liquidate properties and redistribute funds during a possible long appeal process.
The Watchtower Society attempted to post the Patterson Educational Complex as a surety bond. The prosecution team for Conti argued the risk of using real estate as surety and the judge agreed.
The WT then obtained a surety bond of 17 million through Travelers Casualty and Surety Company of America. As soon as the WT provided proof of the bond to the California court, the asset freeze against them was released.
At that time the Society continued liquidation of all real estate assets in Brooklyn.
i'm just wondering has any body ever been busted on an apostate site because someone was able to identify them because of something they wrote.
why i ask this question is because how would this be explained at a jc.
because the person who reported it to the jc was reading something that they shouldn't of.
The best advice I ever received before a judicial investigation was "deny everything, threaten slander and legal action".

Elders will justify any means to an end.
During the current convention program - on Saturday, the speakers make it very clear about apostates, how to identify them, how to treat them.
It's identified that apostates use the news media to LIE about the activities of Jehovah's Witnesses and the organization. And that even sharing emails with links to news items or blogs is the beginning of 'apostate thinking'. By dressing in a way that mimics the 'outlandish fashions of the world', a publisher is exhibiting apostate thinking. Do not read blogs, view internet forums or watch television shows that feature 'apostates' - for they are the 'cooks in the kitchen of the Devil'.
The primary function when dealing with apostasy is to 'keep the congregation clean'. Translate: silence or disfellowship any that exhibit the above attitude or behavior.
hey people,.
as for myself, after extensive study i have concluded that it's not possible for me to trust the bible and so i am not active anymore.
however, let me please add something to the discussions here:.
Thanks for expressing your viewpoint LizO. The nice thing about forums like JWN is that thousands of active Jehovah's Witnesses view this site - who come to realize that they are not alone in the Org. with questions, doubts and fears.
You bring up valid points and you question the point of view of others. During this process the thread opens up lively discussions and and even more questions. This dialogue is VERY important to the thousands that are questioning their faith in this religion.
I suspect that many echo your feelings. They are struggling with trying to reconcile how good, honest-hearted people (their families and closest friends) are able to support a theology that causes intellectual and emotional conflict.
One fact remains constant in the structure. People in the congregations and elders follow the direction of the leaders. All too often, when trying to reconcile their internal conflicts, it's easier to blame the local person as a being a bad guy (imperfect).
When, in reality, he is just following orders (theocratic direction from the faithful slave).

$375,000,000.00 Yes - 375 MILLION dollars...
these are things that were said or insinuated, i start with the first 15.
enjoy!!.
1. working for a corporation in the city makes you fall out of the truth.. 2. if you become inactive or leave jehovah you will make your whole family sad and ruin everything.. 3. all worldly people cheat.. 4. all worldly people curse.. 5.
It's the same story line. Except this is a full length (1 1/2 hour) movie.

I learned the the WTBTS can make movies that even the Lifetime channel would be embarrassed to broadcast.

Unfortunately you have been misinformed. I'm sure your sources - your cousin and others - mean well and feel like they are sharing facts. Perhaps they are young and born into the religion.
I come from a family that is four generations deep as Jehovah's Witnesses.
This religion does not create people with wealth. This religion does not encourage self improvement or a positive outlook on life. This religion demands complete devotion and personal commitment from each individual. This religion preaches love and compassion on the surface. The deeper message is destruction, judgement and condemnation.
In reality the life of a Jehovah's Witnesses is filled with conformity, fear, depression, guilt, unworthiness, minimal education & minimal financial security. It encourages self-righteousness, arrogance, judgementalism, control and intolerance.
That is the bitter 'Truth'.
the committee assigned to build the new complex was called into a meeting with the governing body.
they were told " you finish this project by january 1 2017. we want the keys to the complex and will be headquartered there by that date, do you understand?".
when the brothers protested and said that it would take 6 years for the project to be complete and if they moved that fast there would be many mistakes, the gb responded, "we don't care, that is your deadline".
"Shirley's" link on page two of this thread is the more likely real reason for the new completion date.
I keep having to remind myself that the leadership of this Org. is REACTIONARY and not proactive. They now have an official move out date for major buildings in Brooklyn... So, it's giddy-up time for all the volunteers!
