  How I miss the 'Truth' of my youth....

  my family moved from the city to the country.. part of the reason for the relocation was to move 'to where the need was greater'.

  i loved our new home - i was free to roam the woods and fields, enjoy the wildlife, work in our garden and feed the chickens.

  i had new friends in our new congregation.

  Annual Meeting : where is yours?

  if the original announcement still hold for this weekends 'open' annual meeting, it will be streamed live to (only) english speaking members.

  is this still the plan?.

  i'm interested in hearing from all on the forum where 'their' program will be broadcast.. our local kingdom hall will be live streaming the meeting.. .

  Are you fading mentally or physically?

  i began my proactive 'fade' a couple of years ago.

  it was due to multiple events: observing (once again) another botched judicial decision, researching the origins of wt beliefs and organizational history & reading the bible by itself.. when the kids were young, i made every effort to get them to the meetings, out in service, study with them, read the bible story book, watch the videos and have plenty of parties with other witness kids.

  being raised in the 'truth', i felt this was the best way to teach them right from wrong.

  i just received an email notification from the california appellate court hearing the wt appeal of the conti case:.

  the case has been fully briefed.. the case is on the conference list.. the oral argument waiver notice has been sent.. .

  i'm not well versed in the process or these terms.

  Security cameras inside & outside the Kingdom Hall ?

  i recently heard from a family member who is still active about the new security system in her kh.. during the installation of the digital projector on the auditorium's ceiling, she said that the brothers who came to install it (i'm assuming some from the regional bldg group) also installed security cameras.. she specifically mentions a computer screen at the sound box that shows live feeds of - the parking lot, the carport/drop-off, interior view of the entrance, the lobby and magazine counter & the 'little room' ( the 'elders room' with conference table, computer and printers, filing cabinets, library, etc).. has anyone seen or heard of these being installed in a local hall ?.

  Unbelievable Experience in Yearbook

  a number of years back i heard a story of a young girl in a congregation ( i have some good friends in this hall ) who had an amazing field service experience.

  it was so amazing that it was retold in the 2007 yearbook!.

  it is retold in the highlight of the past year section.

  What is your experience when you stop turning in time?

  for the past year or so, i've been turning in just one or two hours of service time.

  it has been mentioned to me from an elder "friend" that i'm never seen at any meetings for field service.

  i get his implication.

  as i approached the post office just before my 18th birthday to register for the selective service, i was scared to death.

  i was registering for "the draft.

  " i'd heard all the stories of young witness men being brought before registration boards to justify their neutrality stand.

  Using online archives as a research tool.

  it's been a while since someone posted on jw.net about the internet archive.. this website is a great resource for research of the wt society with scans of out of print wt books, pamphlets, booklets, magazines, posters, and recordings.. it has been very helpful for me to build evidence in my mind that what i trusted and believed has been changed ad nauseam by this relgious printing group for over 125 years... i'm reading some scans of wt's printed just before 1925 (another armageddon year) and the scare & fear tactic is the same now as it was then.. a search of "jehovah's witnesses" on this online library brings up over 500 documents - scans, video and audio.. and it's free!.

  Singing Listen, Obey & Be Blessed

  recently attended the sunday meeting during the c.o.

  's visit.

  at the end of the final talk, he says the song will be 'listen, obey and be blessed'.
