Why doesn't the GB come out with specific rules on counting time

i think we all know the reason millions of less hours.

when i was in we went to a rv by the kingdom hall then drove 30 minutes out to the country to knock on a door then back to the city for one more door.

god must be so proud!

At last night's meeting it was announced that the society is instructing us to now count tracts. The small little folded pices of paper on different subjects.

Also the tracts used in campaigns such as #38 being distributed worldwide this month.

There is an elder's wife in our congregation who is a regular pioneer who has admitted she is behind on her time EVERY month. Then suddenly the last 2 months of the service year were upon us, and lo and behold she only needed to get 50 hrs in each month for the last 2 month instead of the usual 70!

The kicker is she was hardly even out in service the last 2 months. Im sure she lied about her time in order to remain on the pioneer list. Im sure MANY do.

Use Of Electronic Tablets At Meetings

i do.. what does the soceity actually say about them?

(i know some the members of the gb use them) .

we just had that Body of Elders letter read last night.

The electronic devices ARE now allowed, although the scriptures should be read from an actual bible.

There was NOTHING said about stumbling others wish people wouldn't adlib.

In closing, it is a conscience matter. period.

Pioneer Service School Adjustment for 2014

the pioneer service school will now be only one week, monday thru saturday.. it will consist of 40 hours of instruction and illustrations/presentations.. the reasong given is that this will make it more accessible to the pioneers for due to work schedules and for congregations having to sponsor and support the school.. it will make it easier on everyone and those who haven't attended in the last five years may be able to attend this school with the new curriculum.. .

what do you feel would be included in the new curriculum.

probably more worship of the governing body and they don't need two whole weeks to get this across.. .

and why do people think they have to secretly record anything?

Bring it and tape it. Not a big deal. It will mostly be shown on jw.org in a couple of weeks anyhow.

Recording is not banned people.

Interesting District Convention News.....

i wanted to share some news from a family friend (he is my wt mole - still an elder, hates the shenanigans, but is still hanging on for all the reasons often discussed on this site) i know the various rumors have been discussed on here, and unfortunately the rumor about the conventions being eliminated weren't true!

(what a burden on the jw community - financial hardship for a good portion of them, guilting people into actually quitting their job to attend, physically exhausting for many, etc...etc......).

anyway, he told me that the district convention is being moved to 11 weekends at the jw-owned circuit assembly hall, and they are no longer planning on renting stadiums/large facilities in our area (northern ohio/southern michigan).

I was told the same thing here in California. Also Circuit Assembly building will be remodeled to accomodate traveling overseers and their wives for a place to stay.

Many will be enlarged so as to accomodate those in the circuit as a sort of evacuation center.

2013 District Convention Headquarters Addresses, Dates, List!

2013 district convention headquarters, addresses-united states and canada..this list is 10 pages long containing the addresses and above some of the locations you will see dates, such as, (june 15-18) or something like that.

i think those dates indicate when the convention will be held at that location.

help me out if i am wrong on that.
