  As one comedian here commented, I would like to know what happened to all the cows that were supposed to be in those meals.

  Jokes aside, from what I read, a lot of the horse meat was from Romania, not France. As has been mentioned, it's the chemicals in the meat (not meant for human consumption) rather than the meat itself that is/should be the concern.

  However, this should be good for local meat producers and butchers here though - hopefully people will go back to sourcing locally and help the local farmers and butchers that are disappearing from the high streets. Or turn more people vegetarian - that wouldn't be such a bad thing either.

  Just seen this thread. Regarding your point Londo111, they don't publish the elder/MS numbers, but I did get the UK figures for those at a ministerial school 2 years ago (prior to awakening):

  I also heard from a health worker that this is the case here in the UK - I think the reason she gave was the lack of education targetted at this age group (growing up in a time before sex-ed) and also the lack of access to "protection".

  UK House of Commons Vote on Gay Marriage Later Today

  the vote could go either way.. only 36% of the british public oppose gay marriage so there is no real political danger to the government.

  david cameron is for it but the cabinet is split.. it will be a test for the tories.

  are they still the reactionary dinosaurs we think they are?.

  So if this progresses so that equal marriage is legally recognized (assuming legislation gets through the House of Lords), it will be interesting to see if this situation arises in the JWs:

  They may not be "forced" to carry out same sex marriages under the new legislation, but surely they have to recognize them by law? Surely they can't go telling people to get divorced so they can join the religion? I know in reality this is a very unlikely situation, but it's possible, no?

  Amazing, Leolaia. I can't belive these were the same verses I heard at the meeting this evening.

  Not only do they fabricate the account to shore up support for the FDS, they totally miss the REAL meaning and nuances of what Jeremiah was alluding to.

  ", "...accepting the guidance given through the faithful slave class is for your lasting good.".

  this is so painful to sit through :(.

  That's a brilliant scripture daringhart13 - thanks.

  Thanks also Blondie. That account of Peter being counselled is a favourite of mine - no one is above correction, despite what elders may think. The WTS referrs to this account very seldom. Like King David who they basically idolize, they seem to like to paint Peter as being a great guy who learnt his lesson and never put a foot wrong after his denial of Jesus.
