Michael Sam Story on the ESPY'S. He was raised a JW.
by integ inmichael sam...the football player who came out as gay, received an award on the espy's sports award show last night.
they had a video presentation documenting his struggles and it was brought out in the video piece that as a jehovah's witness, he was prohibited from playing in organized team sports...but that he went and defiantly played anyway.
so, sam not only had to overcome the gay issue but also that of being a witness.

I know 2 of the Elders on the Ray Franz JC
by James Jackson inwhen i read coc, i was stunned that the 2 elders (theotis french & rob dibble) were on ray franz judcial committee.
i have known these men for over 20 years having done rbc and convention work with them.
they are still elders today which means they were in their early 30's(which is unheard of for a case of this importance to have inexperienced elders to sit on) on this committee.. without revealing myself, i have never tried(but have wanted to), ask them about their on having to judge a former gb member.. then out of the blue, about a year ago, i was mentioning how hard it is trying to get younger ones to volunteer to one of these elders, and he says"this is nothing compared to to sitting on the committee that had to disfellowship ray franz".

Something Big is Coming...
by notsurewheretogo inthe annual meeting of the governing body of jehovah's witnesses will be in october 2014.. .. in november 2013, just after the last one they published this now famous statement in the 15th of november 2013 watchtower page 16 paragraph 17 says:.
"at that time, the lifesaving direction that we receive from jehovahs organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint.
all of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not.".

They can tell the vast majority in 2014 to START partaking, the sheeples will all obey, many saying they knew all along that something was wrong.
I hope they have budgeted for all the red wine they would need.
Perhaps the WTBTS is buying shares in vineyards now? GB approved memorial wine?

They continue to drop like flies
by suavojr inyes, the jws continue to bleed their young ones, so far in my local kh 3 were dfd, one girl just turned 18 this month and packed her bags and said goodbye to the cult and her cultish parents, another young 18 year old man decided to have a non-jw girlfriend and decided to stop attending and is no longer a witness.
they continue to leave and wt leaders dont give a damn.
they dont do anything to help kids be successful and live a healthy life.. .

The Archbishop did give an interesting quote for JW's which caught my attention. On the subject of those who may not agree with the Church's new position he said:
"But I also rejoice that we are promising to seek the flourishing in the church of all those who disagree. If I did not think that was likely, I could not support this legislation. You don’t chuck out family, or even make it difficult for them to be at home: you love them and seek their wellbeing, even when you disagree."

BBC Radio 4 reference to 607 Babylonian conquest?
by 88JM inwas listening to bbc radio 4 late sunday night, and in a programme about migration, they referenced the "babylonian conquest of jerusalem in 607 b.c.
" which caught my attention.. did they not mean 587 b.c., or did i understand it wrong?.
the link to the programme is below - sorry if you're not in the u.k. as you probably won't be able to listen to bbc programmes.

They might not feel it's important enough to warrant a slot in the feedback programme, though that doesn't mean you won't get a response. If they are going to do a piece on the issue, they probably want to research it more and give an explanation why the error was made.
This weeks Feedback was mostly about people talking when eating on the radio

besty - probably half of those references are on here and other exJW sites! 587 is so widely accepted, it's hardly ever contested.
Island Man - it's difficult to see how they can justify saying 607 in the context they did. They were talking about the events that Psalm 137 references, i.e. exile. I don't think anyone could reasonably say there was any kind of "conquest" or "exile" in 607 B.C. from Jerusalem surely?
EDIT: Never mind Island Man!
