No longer to use "house to house record" slips and "please follow up slips"!

a letter has just been read out indicating that effective immediately, witnesses are no longer to use the s-8 slip known as the "house to house" record slip, as well as the s-43 "please follow up" slip (usually used for foreign language people).. the letter stated that this is because of the changes in privacy laws etc that are becoming common in the world today.. i will try and get a copy of the full letter and post it asap.. .

As some have already said, in Britain witnesses stopped using S-8 slips over a decade ago, but some time earlier this year they decided to start using them again for some reason. It sounds like they have now changed their minds again, if the country in the original post is referring to the Britain.

hi guys last night i posted this here but only a few notes as it was quite fresh and only announced lasdt night at the meeting.i have now updated article and included a couple of useful links about this matter .

If it's anything like the full-time construction volunteers I know, they are total borg zombies. The couples I know either rent out their houses to other JWs (who might pick up their window cleaning business or something like that) while away on projects, or just sell up altogether and live out of suitcases. Some who have been in it for a while and get the "full-time status" get a modest stipend, but not much - certainly no more than a bethelite.

It's all very short-sighted though - keeping themselves afloat depends on the WTBTS giving them continuous assignment after assignment, but like many full-time volunteers once they have outlived their usefulness and no longer needed there is nothing to stop the borg dumping them out on the street at a moments notice.

They will then be in a position possibly without a house and unable to buy one because house prices have gone up in the mean time, while what little savings they had were sat doing nothing in the bank, and likely no pension either. They will also find themselves too old to start having children.

You think you're missing something but you're really not - these people are so deluded to devote their entire livelyhood to the WTBTS, even more than regular dubs. You'd have to be crazy, and they are.

i posted here a week ago some disturbing news for congregations being consolidated in britain.

my goodness that was nothing !

a letter was read today from bethel addressed to all congregations in britain that can only be described as the biggest news for years.the main points:.

Simon has made some good points, and I'm sure others than myself have a more informed opinion, but when a "company" starts selling off the family silver, i.e. it's physical assets, isn't that usually a classic sign of "panic" or at least a company in crisis?

I realise this has been happening in other countries for a while, but it's interesting that this is now happening in Britain at this time, and not in a subtle way burning away in the background, but in a big announcement letter to all congregations. As to the answer of why Britain and why now, there's the obvious stuff going on in the courts which could likely be causing the cash grab. A few other possible additional reasons though:

Coming in November, it seems quite likely they now have the 2013-2014 service year-end figures, so it's possible that Britain is once again showing a decrease, as they did in 2001 and 2003.
That's surprising to me from what I saw and heard anecdotally from baptism figures at the summer conventions which looked about average or above. It's possible there have been a lot of people leaving though - young folks are getting wise to the cult younger and younger. I've also thought that future conditions are not looking favourable for much growth in the foreign language field as Britain is wanting to take a much firmer stand on immigration.
Again, I don't put much stock in my own opinion, but I would say on the property market it's also probably about the right time to be selling up - interest rates could be going up in the 18 months, there's a lot of uncertainty around the election next year, whether Britain will be taken out of the E.U. and also the economic state of the E.U. itself which has a huge effect as a trading partner of the U.K. whether it is still part of the E.U. or not. So the property market is probably close to peaking.

6 Months in the slammer might help with deprogramming these Governing Body monstrosities and make some changes after they have served their time.

If they drop the soap in the shower, will they be expecting "the two witness rule" to be applied in their own case?

Kingdom Hall consolidations in the UK

/from reliable sources (brothers in position within the congragation) i've been informed that in two different location within the uk congragations are to be consolidated .these men are loyal to the society and have no contact with ex-jw community .many brothers and sisters within these 4 congragations are devasted and undertantably very upset .one of these congragation has in excess of 150k in the bank currently "held" by the society as a loan .do you have any more information on this ?

is this just a one off or a new trend ?.

I also just realised, by dispersing even just one or two large congregations into surrounding ones, you can instantly put pressure on lots of congregations to build multiple new halls, instead of the pressure being just on one congregation to do a simple remodel or one rebuild.
