Yes, much better, I'm able to work on my credit rating. The past few years really put it in the toilet.

Name one POSITIVE thing you took from your experience as a Witness
by geodude ini was thinking about this at work the other day, and realized the one positive thing i can truly credit the jws with: .
i have no fear of public speaking.
i was a shy kid, fat, clumsy, with crooked glasses and worse teeth, who wore hand-me-downs in one of the wealthiest counties in all of america, who sat still while classmates got up to salute the flag or recite the pledge of allegiance.

Name one POSITIVE thing you took from your experience as a Witness - I met my husband at the building of a kingdom hall, although we came very close to not even meeting each other. I had finished my job and was leaving the state the next morning, and the country shortly after that. The only reason I hadn't left yet was that someone had misplaced some of my equipment. My future husband was talking to the brother who knew where everything was at. All I said was hi, to him, and left. He actually chased me down to get my number, and the rest is history. Little did I know at the time my future husband was also a PIMO. That was almost 27 years ago.

Do JWs believe that animals were created to live in harmony? Lion and the lamb
by Doubledecker inthanks to all who replied to my first post, i appreciate you taking the time to do so.. i left jws for my own reasons as a teenager as i just simply didn’t believe it .
i am enjoying playing catch up with all the information out there now showing multiple examples of false prophecies , covering up the truth and the jw broadcasting stuff is amazing ( as said before i’ve just ignored the organisation for 30 years ) , it’s totally brainwashing evangelical propaganda.. however i digress .... as a young kid i used to ask , “if in paradise the “ lion will lay with lamb “ and all creatures will live in harmony, why for example does a snake have venom if not to eat another creature ?”.
like i say i was 10 years old i remember so please excuse the childish question.. but do they actually believe that was gods original plan for animals ?

I never understood that either, especially when I saw their fangs or canines, don't use those for eating vegetation. Besides that when there are no predators to keep the prey in check, things go from bad to worse.

Marital sex
by Tedeily inmy wife and i have always shared naked photos respectfully over the years.
being the only thing to fill that void in our relationship due to being apart.
recently my wife has become jehovah, and we’re not sure if my wife is allowed to respectfully share herself with me while i am away.

Just keep in mind also the Watchtower will say things that will make your wife feel guilty about perfectly normal sexual relations between you and her. It won't be a thing mentioned once in a blue moon, but quite often. I would suggest doing research in this area so when the time comes, and it will, so you will know how to handle this situation.

I wanted to give an update on my niece
by Tameria2001 inabout a month ago i had mentioned my niece who's jw parents kicked her out.
i let her know that she is welcome to my home if she wanted to come.
well, i found out through another relative that her jw parents (my sister) learned that i was more than happy to take in their daughter.

@laverite, I plan on it, but at the moment I have been poking a stick at the proverbial hornet's nest lately with my JW relatives.

Ex JW of 30 years , still messed up from it
by Doubledecker inhi , this is my first post .. i left jws 30 years ago as 18 year old unbaptised youth and after the initial fallout from leaving pretty much put the whole thing in a box and buried it .. however , i am now starting to realise how much the doomsday messages and the ‘them and us’ doctrines that’s fed to you from birth has remained in my core beliefs.. how have others managed to reprogram themselves ?.
thanks for reading , have a good day .

I don't care what people say about Jordan Maxwell, there is quite a bit of controversy on what people say about him. I watched a few of his videos on Youtube where he went into things that actually made things click in my mind. Before I really didn't know which way to think and was always going back and forth on things in my mind.

What you just said sounds almost exactly what I went through 19 years ago when I told my JW mother that my husband and I were DA ourselves from the Watchtower. At that time she too said my marriage would not last because we no longer have Jehovah in our lives and that we turned our back on him. Still gives me the creeps when I repeat those words. The ironic part was our marriage actually got stronger, and we became happier after walking away from that cult. Even my own sons who were still very young tell me to this day that I became a much better mother after we left the JWs. We were finally free to be who we really are, and not the same old cookie-cutter new personality that the Watchtower was always shoving down our throats.
Nothing I said to my mother connected to her as far as why I was leaving, even the 1975 lie that the Watchtower had taught back then. 1975 was the reason my mother became a JW. They told her that she would be reunited with her daughter who died a couple of years before at the age of 5.
But on the positive note with my JW relatives totally shunning me, is that I don't have to deal with their toxic crap that they are always spewing out of their viperious mouths.

Any of you JW super linguists learn to speak Japanese? If so, how’d it go? ;)
by Diogenesister inhi i’ve been learning to draw portraits, and one style i had a go at when drawing young children was a sort of kawaii or cute japanese style.
i wanted to make gifts of these drawings so looked into writing in japanese script to add to the aesthetic.. but oh wow!!
three types of script?!!

The closest I ever got to the Japanese language is my son, he minored in Japanese in college. Even though he has finished taking all the courses the school offered, he and his girlfriend are still practicing it by reading books together. That was how they met. His reason for wanting to learn the language was video games and books. Now he doesn't have to wait for the English version of a game to play it.

How do you feel about Social Media?

I'm not really into social media, outside of a couple of forums I don't really use it. I only have a Facebook account to keep up with the pictures my daughter in law post of my grandson. If it were not for that I would have closed it out a long time ago. I use to have a few people on my friend's list, that I know personally. Then when they started making rude and snarky remarks about things I did post, I ended up removing almost everyone.
I did check out Twitter but ended up closing out the account after it sat dormant for a long time, never used it after signing up for it.

Do You Support Police and Law Enforcement?
by minimus inrecently black lives matter representatives have encouraged people to spit in law enforcement officials foods.
some people are going into police stations and trying to kill innocent officers.
federal officials are marked for death because they try to administer the law.. what is your opinion of this type of lawlessness?.

I don't like it when someone decides to kill an officer just because they are an officer. This past December, Officer Stephen Carr, Fayetteville Arkansas, was sitting in his patrol waiting for his partner, in the police station parking lot, when a coward came up from behind and shot (murdered) him. The prick who did this was killed a short time later. Officer Carr was only 27 years. old.https://abcnews.go.com/US/arkansas-police-officer-shot-killed-precinct/story?id=67576439
Also that same night another officer from Houston Texas was also killed. Sgt. Christopher Brewster was only 32 years old. https://abcnews.go.com/US/houston-police-sergeant-fatally-shot-responding-domestic-violence/story?id=67573083
These men both had people who loved and cared for them
