My husband and I are in our mid 60's. Our mothers have lived past their mid 80s This history makes us feel possible to live another 20 years. When I hit my mid 30's we had some setbacks that meant I had to go to work. Hated it at that time but now I am happy it happened, when I see the amount we receive from SS it would be scary to live on that amount luckly I went to work for a company pension plan so our retirment is better then those that always tried to struggle on nothing. Our moms both remained faithful into their 80s but I have wondered how much my mom truly belived in her heart before she died. My MIL still believes she will live long enough to survive Armegeddon, she is 86.

Deteriorating content of the WT
by His Excellency inhas anyone noticed the recent deterioration in the quality of wt's contents lately?..
the spiritual food seems to be getting more and more shitty these days.
i have given a thought to what could really be going wrong, and if it is likely that some on the wiriting committee is consciously dishing out those nonsense to facilitate more poeple seeing ttat.

They have lost a lot of their deeper thinking writers, Ray Franz, Barbara Anderson, and the others. You DF your critcal thinkers you are left with those who are lucky to have graduated high school. They just aren't educated enough to make the old stuff a little interesting. That leaves you with becoming stricter thinking you will have perfect kids (followers) that is usually followed by a strong rebellion.

the other side of disfellowshipping
by nowwhat? inpersonally i hate it when you come face to face with someone disfellowshiped and you can't do a simple acknowledgement or greeting.
they are obviously making an effort to be there to be reinstated.
as i recall back in the 1970's they did allow this but what is always the case some took advantage of this provision and in engaged in full blown conversations.

and as you sit in back at hall, study, show respect even when you feel you were disfellowshiped wrongly. and each jc meeting you plead to be allowed to rejoin, they turn you down again, Parents asked why answer( many parents do not want children reinsted quickly, they want to make sure their kids are repentent) do you buy this CRAP true story
of course his true sin was being disfellowshiped from Bethel. It is nearly 2 years. Keep it up JW'S and another will join this forum.

working in food sevice you learn about dealing with food. First time served it is good, second time heated, stirred, and served it still tastes good, third time reheated, stirred, and served it is boring and doesn't taste very good,.Forth time and any time served after it starts to smell, starts bad bacteria growing. Dangerous for your health if you eat it. Does it sound familiar to anyone else.

I started out wanting to comment onSophieG post and on flippers, they both expressed themselves so well and I also these peoples personalities. I love everyone can have and show their true selves. Two months ago I told my daughter I never got to know and develop my true self. I was shocked that I can even speak up and let people tp know I think i know by PM- I would have kept in my corner and kept wondering when I was at a KH.

DYING TO PIONEER!
by The Searcher ini was talking with an elderly sister today, and she brought up the topic of pioneering in march & april.
she then mentioned the elderly brother who has an extremely serious condition who was used to explain to the congregation, how he would adjust to be able to get the pioneer hours in.
it became 100% clear to the sister (and probably others) that this brother could die by pushing himself so hard.. loving shepherds, prove it - don't sanction such ones to enrol for such a life-threatening exercise.
