Yes, my dream of being a teacher, I knew I wanted to teach from 3rd grade on. Now I am 65 I have been told over the last 45 years it was my choice, not the way I or my friends remember. 45 years ago it became harder to go to college as I had my first child and didn't no how to start back to school. I always encouraged my kids to get their education. One has an associate and the other has her Masters.

Did your parents force spiritual goals on you?

i knew from a young age that the proper response to a question about what i wanted to be when i grew up was pioneering, missionary, bethel, or c.o.
i was taught from childhood not to want to be a fireman or astronaut.

JWs and War
by Laika inhere's the scene, you're out for a walk with a jw, and somehow discussion turns to religion.. the jw says: 'i know jws have the truth because we don't go to war, members of other churches will kill each other if their government asks them to, but the bible says 'do not kill' and we follow that.'.

True but look at JW tragedies and many JW have murdered their own families. Also there are religions in this world that are pacifists also. Quackers, Amish to name two.

by minimus inas a jw, i read all the publications and tried to understand all "theocratic" watchtower policy.. i read 3 newspapers a day and rarely read a book or magazine, other than wt.
stuff.. i read the bible a number of times and still find it a good read.. i love to read the internet news as well as the cherished drudge report.. what's your favorite read??.

Like Mouthy I am 65 and I never dressed dowdy always wore dresses as short as I could get away with and I was/always a blond blue eyes. BTW usually shorter than i could get away with. Taught my daughter to dress to impress.

I first started luking here in Oct. Joined late Dec. And just had a aha moment. Now I realize why my mother was always so negative. It was something we all knew but never connected why.

Just when I thought it was over I get a phone call
by label licker inone of the families in the hall called me last night and let another piece of the puzzle out.
apparently there was another family that we don't even know who had gotton a phone call from these jerk off elders down here questioning them about us and what they knew.
(anything negative).

Label Licker I watched my son go thru something similar 20 years ago, they just keep coming at you trying to break. of course they don't want us sullying their name at Bethel because even the company men are being controlled by fear. Please take our love and remember that they can't stand it when they no longer have control over you.Bethel calls seems to be the subject of the day but unforunately there is no justice in the organization. And we sit and watch them still control members of our family. My husband and I still have JW family members on his and my side, just when we think it is over something new comes up and we have been inactive for 20+ years. Please vent to us any time you need we are the ones who have some understanding.
