  Today is my birthday !

  after missing 63 years of birthday celebrations, i'm making up for it in spades.

  cake, presents & parties.

  i tell everyone i meet that today is my birthday just to hear them say "happy birthday".

  Sisters conducting meetings where there is a lack of brothers

  i remember years ago when i was a little boy aroung 9 years old, our bookstudy conductor was in the hospital and at the last minute one of the elders asked my aunt to be the book study conductor.

  this was the first time i have seen this happen.

  my aunt did a very good job and the bookstudy acted as it was not something from outer space.

  Yes, my sister had her own bookstudy in the early 60's. We just didn't have enough qualified brothers. Sad to say for the last 48 years she is a wife who is browbeaten and can't make decisions for herself.

  please spare a moment to consider the difiiculties faced by gay jehovahs witnesses.

  i was raised and baptised as a very serious jw.

  every waking moment of my day was lived for jehovahs and his organization and for nothing else.

  My son wasa born-in tried praying, pioneering and even married. in his 20s he met a gay man he was very attracted to he chose togo to the elders to da but he was so well known they chose to df him. The story today is he and this gay man will soon be celebrating 20 years together. My son says he is so much happier out and gay.

  I was 36 when I started posting here. This weekend I celebrated my 50th birthday!

  and i mean celebrated!

  it was a cracking barbecue party for around 40 good friends and neighbours as well as my 'never jw' cousins and one of my brothers and his family.. .

  drank a bit too much, embarrassed my kids with some 'dad dancing' and laughed until 2 in the morning.

  My first birthday party.

  different kind of feelings.. i've been living with my new partner 10 months and his family has adopted me as a new son.

  i'm sad not having my family here with me but love, kindness and feelings from my new family fill all i have lost.. a nice chocolate cake, a present (a new watch), many greetings and wishes from friends, a nice dinner with my boyfriend.. who said this was wrong?.

  Enjoy. Happy Birthday. Family would love to act more loving but too brainwashed. I was forced to rethink my beliefs when my son announced he is gay. 20 years since I chose family over JW beliefs. Much Love

  Rock n Roll turns 60

  at a little independent recording studio in memphis tennessee music and history got turned on its ear.

  sun records, sam phillips baby, recording a memphis truck driver who captured what sam heard in his head- rock a billy and r&b with an edge, the birth of rock n roll.

  the truck driver was elvis presley.

  for me: how to garden, do laundry (we washed in an old maytag wringer and pegged the wash on a wire line), cook, clean house.. most importantly, how to show love and respect .

  i've been given permission to post news of our friend.. kate hasn't been very well.

  not well at all.

  i think much of it has been a delayed reaction to her df'ing, the general fallout when leaving the wtbs and family issues.. i just wanted to give you guys the heads up and give you a chance to show how much we care about her.. thanks for listening..

  Kicking the "Gay Habit" at the IC

  heard from a reliable source that this was part of friday's program.

  they even interviewed a "former gay man" who "kicked the gay habit".. evidently kicking the "gay habit" is difficult, not unlike quitting smoking or avoiding sugary snacks.

  the persons who related this to me found the whole thing to be laughable at best, but honestly seemed quite disturbed by it (which is good!

  I called my exJW gay son and shared that its bad habit he has to kick. He actually laughed as he really tried by pioneering. Didn't work.
