Kneehighmia just a reminder looks is not everything. I am going to share an experience from 40+ years ago. In the circuit I attende we had some beautiful sisters and the plain everyday sisters. The beautiful sisters were very desireable to the young brothers and these sisters always had a nice looking brother at their side.n we average looking sisters were ignored for the most part. It was hard for us especially when we discovered we were desireable to non-JWs. 40 years later the beautiful sisters hav devorced usually many times. The plain girls were kinder and worked harder to please her man. I am not talking ugly just not the beautiful model types many men want. As one of the average girls I have grown over 40 years wanting to treat others withlove and kindness and have tried to live up to the fruitages of the sprirt. These are the important thing in a person and I am not talking about a super strong JW, as they often ARE NOT living up to the fruitages of the spirit. Find a loving kind woman and life will work out. Thi is the thoughts of senior citizen who has been married 48 years.

Funeral for an atheist
by Stealth in99% of all funerals that i have attended have been the wt version, where they preach about the resurrection into paradise and say little about the person who passed other than they were loyal to jah.
the other 1% catholic for grandparents.. now that i consider myself an atheist, i got to wondering what do atheists plan for when they die?.
if you are a non-believer what are your plans for when you die?

A celebration of life. People share memories of the person. I t is awsome it gives the loved ones a chance to share their lives and I feels it gives a chance to say the final goodbye. Beliefs do not come into it just love.

reach back in your memories to when you were at the peak of your faith in the religion, and tell me honestly:.
"did you, personally, believe that non-witnesses would die at armageddon, even if they hadn't gotten to hear the message at all?".

Wow we are all exJWs but we were all led to have slightly different belief. In 50s taught no one but JWs would survive Armegeddon.

Double-life, sounds like a prison sentence....or maybe not?
by sparrowdown inquestion: do you think the "double-lifers" have the best of both worlds?.
just asking, because i have wondered, if i had an outlet to express my utter.
disgust and general dissatisfaction with wt teachings and cong-life while i. was still in, ie on forums etc, maybe i would never have left.. just a thought, anyone else have any?.

I have been a double lifer since 1964 just months after my baptism at the age of 14. now That I'm 2 months from my 67th birthday I am still a doublr lifer in order to have some association with still in JW famiy. This is still part of life for me and my husband even though we havent attended meeting for 20 yearscexcept for funerals, weddings and a cuple of Memorials. It is no way foe anyone to live life.

My best friend died yesterday

Pets are a part of our families. We do what we must to makr sure our loved one don't suffer too much. I am sorry for your loss. Maybe heaven really exits. I don't know what to believe.

I loathe authority
by punkofnice innow i'm not preaching hatred here i am just expressing how i've felt for years even when i was a jw.. i totally loathe the police/policticians...any authority......anyone that is over anyone else.
i have a total hatred of them all.
i wonder if it's because i was raised a jw?.
